Hi, I cleared SBI PO 2020 and January 2020, I switched my preparation from random study to banking specific in January last year. From that time I worked on my basics and tried covering every aspect of the syllabus. 6 months later, when I was done with the concept and basics I started giving mocks and practice sessions from YouTube as well. For pre level I targeted questions I was strong in and for mains I targeted questions I am going to leave. After prelims result I shifted my focus on current affairs and that really worked for me. For interview I will say I just believed myself and just tried being as calm as I could.

This was my very 1st attempt of any Mains exam in banking line. Apart from that I never cleared any of the prelims I gave after my graduation.

Aman Kumar‘s Section-wise Preparation Strategy

English Section Preparation Strategy

I was a good student in English. So I rarely had any strategy and didn’t even prepared but I think for someone with knowledge of basic grammar rules must read some easy newspaper articles and try understand what is written and which grammatical rules are being taking place, so instead of reading a long and tough vocab article go for a simple one and try to analyze it grammatically.

Quantitative Aptitude Section Preparation Strategy

First of all we need to practice on our calculations and make it as fast as it could be. Basics of arithmetic should be next priority and select some chapters in which you can perform well. In prelims my approach was to do simplification/approximation, number series, quadratic, DI first, and if any time is left then move on to word problems. And for mains I practiced enough DI and data sufficiency problems.

Reasoning Section Preparation Strategy

As it is a versatile subject, I used YouTube for clearing my doubts and after that continuous practice and mock attempts were the key. On a daily basis I solved 5 pre level puzzles/seatings and 2-3 mains level and always preferred for the harder ones while giving mocks. Even data sufficiency questions are well enough for mains. Attempt the miscellaneous ones first at any level then move on to the puzzles.

General Awareness Section Preparation Strategy

I prepared on daily basis during non exam period and read monthly PDF at the time of revision besides I did gave weekly current affairs test from PracticeMock which helped in my strategic and complete revision during the final days of mains exam.

overall strategy & Study Schedule

A disciplined approach is what I will suggest that can help you clear exams at any level. In the morning time study the current affairs and doubt/concept clearings and attempt mocks in the evening and analyze it before going to bed. Do not study continuously give urself break after 2-3 hours of focused study. Be honest with your preparation. Start giving mocks 1 month before exam on a daily basis. General awareness is the game changer in mains exam, dedicate yourself to it and you will fulfill your dreams just like I did.

I was unaware of mocks and thought it to be waste of money due to which I didn’t have enough materials to practice which delayed my success in examination.
