Simplification and Approximation are one of the most asked topics in the Quantitative Aptitude section of LIC AAO Prelims exam. These topic concepts form the base to understand other quant topics. Every year, 3 to 5 questions are asked from this topic in the form of mathematical calculations and are also included in the Data Interpretation topic. Many aspirants who have improved their calculation speed in solving questions from this topic have cleared the exam. If you also want to crack the LIC AAO exam this year, you should try to solve different types of simplification and approximation questions. In this blog, we are providing a free downloadable PDF of Simplification and Approximation Questions with solutions for LIC AAO 2025 exam.

What are Simplification and Approximation Questions in LIC AAO?

Simplification questions are complex mathematical expressions to be converted into a simple form. The BODMAS rule is used to solve them. Approximation questions are also expressions, but you are asked to find the approximate value after solving the expression (not the exact value). To solve them, you need to learn quick maths techniques, tables up to 30, quick calculations, square roots and cube roots, decimals, fractions, unit digit, squares and cubes of the given number, and basic knowledge of the number system. Practice is the only way to improve your speed in solving such questions. You can practice using PracticeMock topic tests. Thus, simplification and approximation questions test your basic understanding of the mathematical calculations and prepare you to tackle other quant topics.
