- LCM × HCF = Product of two numbers
- Even Number = 2n
- Odd Number = 2n + 1
- Sum of first n natural numbers = n(n + 1) / 2
- Sum of first n even numbers = n(n + 1)

- (a + b)² = a² + b² + 2ab
- (a – b)² = a² + b² – 2ab

2. Percentage, Ratio & Average – Important Formulas
Percentage
- Percentage (%) = (Value / Total Value) × 100
- Increase or Decrease % = (Change / Original Value) × 100
- Successive Change % = x + y + (xy / 100)
Ratio & Proportion
- If a : b = m : n, then a/b = m/n
- a : b :: c : d → ad = bc
- Direct Proportion → a₁/b₁ = a₂/b₂

- Average = (Sum of all terms) / (Number of terms)
- New Average = (Old Sum ± Change) / New Number of terms

- Profit = SP – CP
- Loss = CP – SP
- Profit % = (Profit / CP) × 100
- Loss % = (Loss / CP) × 100
- SP = CP × (100 + Profit%) / 100
- SP = CP × (100 – Loss%) / 100
- Discount % = (Discount / MP) × 100
- Net Discount % = x + y – (x × y) / 100

Simple Interest
- SI = (P × R × T) / 100
- Amount (A) = P + SI
- For months: SI = (P × R × T) / (100 × 12)
Compound Interest
- A = P × (1 + R/100)ᵀ
- CI = A – P
- When compounded half-yearly: A = P × (1 + (R/2)/100)²ᵀ
- Difference between CI & SI (for 2 years) = P × (R/100)²
5. Time & Work – Important Formulas
- Work = Rate × Time
- Time = Work / Rate
- If A can do work in x days, then A’s 1-day work = 1/x
- If A and B work together, 1-day work = (1/x + 1/y)
- Efficiency ∝ 1/Time
- LCM of time taken = Total Work (for shortcut method)
6. Time, Speed & Distance (TSD) – Important Formulas
- Speed = Distance / Time
- Time = Distance / Speed
- Distance = Speed × Time
- If speed changes: S₁T₁ = S₂T₂
- Average Speed = (2xy) / (x + y) (when same distance covered at two speeds)
- Conversion: 1 km/hr = 5/18 m/s and 1 m/s = 18/5 km/hr
- Relative Speed (same direction) = (A – B)
