Subject-wise Preparation tips for LIC AAO 2025 Exam

In this section, we are going to discuss the subject-wise strategy for the LIC AAO Exam. If you follow the tips and strategy, then it is very much possible to clear the exam on the first attempt. One thing to keep in mind is that there is no negative marking, and the English section is qualifying in nature. Another important thing to note down is that hardly three weeks are left for the exam, and to prepare well, you’ve to study at least 8-10 hours.

Quantitative Aptitude

  • This section consists of 35 questions which is of 35 marks. The time limit is 20 minutes. So you’ve to maintain a balance between speed and accuracy to score good marks in this section.
  • Solve questions daily to train your mind to analyse question patterns and attempt questions quickly.
  • Practice as many questions as you can on Approximation and BODMAS.
  • Practice LIC AAO previous year papers for specific questions on topics like simplification.
  • For Data Interpretation, Practice 5 sets of Tabulation, Pie Chart, Line Graph, Bar Graph, and Miscellaneous DI questions involving word problems.
  • The Quants section requires strong basic calculation skills to make the most of this section. Hence, you should practice as much as you can to get a faster speed in attempting questions. Therefore, it is important to brush up on basic concepts of mathematics as the questions included in the section are based on basic maths concepts.
  • Give sectional mock tests to check the progress.

English Language

  • The English section is qualifying. It is important to clear it. The English section is worth 30 points and will not be counted in the final Cutoff list.
  • Examine your strong and weak areas by answering the questions accordingly.
  • Revise and solve questions from topics such as the Cloze Test, Reading Comprehension, Fillers, Error Spotting & Phrase Replacement, and the vocabulary section. This approach will assist you in getting the cut-off marks in this subject.

Reasoning

  • Firstly, cover Syllogism, Coding-Decoding, Blood Relations, and Alpha-Numeric Series. Practice 50–60 questions per topic to build speed.
  • Revise assumption, inference, conclusion, and cause-and-effect types.
  • Now move to puzzles and begin with linear, circular, and floor-based puzzles. Gradually move to high-level mixed puzzles (with blood relations/directions). Start by solving a puzzle daily and gradually increase it to 3–4 puzzles daily.
