Eligibility Criteria for BOI Promotion Exam 2025

Eligibility is based on educational qualification and years of service in the bank. Different categories have different requirements.

Postgraduate (MBA, MCA, MMS, PGDM)2 years in the clerical cadre

Clerks with 12th pass (10+2+3 pattern)8 years in the clerical cadre
Clerks with matriculation/SSC10 years in the clerical cadre

Selection Process for BOI Promotion Exam 2025

The selection will be done out of 100 marks. Marks will be awarded under three categories:

1. Qualifying Marks: 22 out of 65 (18.75 for SC/ST/PwD)
2. No negative marking

Probation Period After Promotion

Once promoted to the General Banking Officer role, candidates will serve a probation period of 1 year. During this time, performance, conduct, and attendance will be closely monitored.

  • If satisfactory → confirmed as officer.
  • If unsatisfactory → probation may be extended OR the candidate may be reverted back to the clerical cadre.
