English Language Section Weightage in LIC AAO 2025

In the LIC AAO Generalist Prelims exam, the English language section consists of 30 marks in the Prelims, and you have to score 10 marks to qualify in this section if you belong to the General or EWS category. If you belong to a reserved category, you need to score 9 marks out of 30 to qualify in the English language section. For this, you should know basic grammar rules, vocabulary, and important English language topics and concepts.

In the LIC AAO Generalist Mains exam, the english language section is in descriptive format which means you have to type the answer of the question provided. There will be two questions which can be any of the following topics:

Email writing: Question will be like ‘Write an e-mail on the below given topic’

Report Writing: Questions framed – ‘Write a Report on the situation provided below’

Precis Writing: In this the examiner may ask – ‘summarize the passage by keeping important points in mind and give title to it’

Situation Analysis Writing: In this topic, a situation is given, and you need to write a response.

You have to score only 10 out of 30 marks to qualify in the Prelims and 10 out of 25 marks to qualify in the Mains, as the English Language section marks are not counted for Merit in the LIC AAO exam.

With only one month left, cracking the LIC AAO Prelims exam requires smart study. You need to smartly deal with each section that will come in the exam.
