What is the SSC CGL Score Card?

Many students get confused between the "Result PDF" and the "Score Card".

  • Result List (Write-up): This is just a list of Roll Numbers. It only tells you if you passed or failed. It does not show your marks.
  • Score Card: This is your personal dashboard. It shows your Raw Marks (actual score) and Normalized Marks (final score). Even if you did not clear the cut-off, you can still see your scorecard to know how close you were.

Details Mentioned on SSC CGL Score Card

Your scorecard contains some important numbers. Here is a simple explanation of what they mean:

Term

Meaning

Raw Score

The actual marks you got are based on your correct and wrong answers. (e.g., 140 marks).

Normalized Score

(Most Important) This is your final score after adjusting for the difficulty of your shift. The cut-off is applied to this score.

Tier-1 Result

It will show if you are "Qualified for Tier-2" or not.

Sectional Marks

Marks scored in Math, Reasoning, English, and GK separately.

What is "Normalized Score" in SSC CGL?

This is the number that decides your fate.

SSC CGL Tier-1 is held in many shifts over several days. Some shifts are "Easy," and some are "Hard".

  • If your paper was Hard, SSC increases your marks to make it fair. (Your 130 marks might become 145).
  • If your paper was Easy, your marks might stay the same or increase very slightly.

This process is called Normalization. So, the final cutoff is always based on the Normalized Score, not your raw marks.
