RRB NTPC Important Dates and Events Explained

RRB conducts a lot of events during the whole recruitment cycle, such as the release of the notification, exam dates, admit card, result, etc. Staying updated with these updates is very important.

1. Official Notification Release

The Railway Recruitment Board has released the detailed notifications in October. For Graduate Level posts (like Station Master and Goods Train Manager), the notification (CEN 06/2025) was released on 20th October 2025. For Undergraduate/12th Level posts (like Clerk and Typist), the notification (CEN 07/2025) was issued on 27th October 2025. These documents confirmed the total 8,868 vacancies (5,810 for Graduates and 3,058 for Undergraduates).

2. Application Dates (Extended)

The application window opened shortly after the notifications.

  • Graduates: The application process started on 21st October 2025. The last date was extended to 27th November 2025.
  • Undergraduates: Applications began on 28th October 2025, with the deadline extended to 4th December 2025.
Missing these dates means losing the chance to compete for these posts this year.

3. Fee Payment Deadline

After submitting the application form, candidates were given a few extra days to complete their payment.

  • Graduate Candidates had until 29th November 2025 to pay the fees.
  • Undergraduate Candidates can pay their fees until 6th December 2025.
The application fee is ₹500 for General/OBC candidates and ₹250 for SC/ST/PwD/Women/Minorities.

4. RRB NTPC CBT 1 Exam Dates

Candidates who fill out the application form can appear for the first stage of the exam, which is the CBT 1 exam. The exact dates for the CBT 1 Exam are yet to be officially announced on the website. Candidates are advised to keep checking the official site for the Exam City Intimation and Admit Card, which are typically released 10 days and 4 days before the exam, respectively.

5. RRB NTPC Answer Key Release

After the completion of the CBT 1 exams, RRB will release the provisional answer key. You can expect the release of the answer key within a month. Candidates can use this key to check their answers and calculate their raw score. You can also raise an objection (by paying a fee) if you believe an official answer is wrong.

6. RRB NTPC CBT 1 Result

After reviewing all objections, RRB will declare the CBT 1 Result and the Cut-Off Marks. RRB has not announced the exact date yet. The result is usually published in the form of a PDF containing the roll numbers of shortlisted candidates.

7. RRB NTPC CBT 2 Exam Dates

Those who successfully clear the first stage (CBT 1) will be eligible to appear for the CBT 2 exam. This is the merit-deciding stage. The CBT 2 exam can be expected to be conducted after 2-3 months of the CBT 1 exam.
