Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) conducts the RRB NTPC exam. RRB NTPC apply online process has ended. It was open from 21st October 2025 to 27th November 2025 (Extended) for graduate level and 28th October 2025 to 4th December 2025 (Extended) for undergraduate posts. In this article, we have provided details related to the application form. Steps for RRB NTPC Apply Online?
Here are the simple steps that will help you fill out the RRB NTPC application form. You are advised to go through it and bookmark this page for future reference.
Step 1: Visit the Official RRB Website
Action: Open your browser and visit www.rrbapply.gov.in (centralized application portal for all RRBs).
Tip: Use a desktop/laptop for a smoother application experience. Mobile phones can also be used, but may have display issues.
Step 2: Create New Account (First-Time Registration)
If you're a new user:
A. Click on "New Registration" or "Create Account"
- Located on the homepage or under the "Apply" section
- Read all instructions carefully before proceeding
B. Fill Registration Form with Basic Details:
- Full Name (exactly as per 10th certificate)
- Date of Birth (DD/MM/YYYY format - must match 10th certificate)
- Father's Name (as per records)
- Mother's Name (as per records)
- Aadhaar Number (recommended but optional)
- 10th/Matriculation Roll Number
- Year of Passing 10th
- Valid Mobile Number (active - you'll receive OTP)
- Valid Email ID (active - you'll receive OTP)
C. OTP Verification:
- You'll receive OTP on your registered mobile number and email
- Enter both OTPs correctly within the time limit (usually 10 minutes)
- Click "Verify" to proceed
D. Registration Confirmation:
- After successful OTP verification, a unique Registration Number will be generated
- A password will be sent to your registered email and mobile number
- Save these credentials securely - you'll need them for login
Important Note: If you already have an account from previous RRB CENs (2024 onwards), use the same credentials to log in. Do NOT create multiple accounts.
Step 3: Log in to Your Account
Action: Return to the homepage and click on "Candidate Login"
Enter Login Credentials:
- Registration Number/User ID (received via email/SMS)
- Password (received via email/SMS or Date of Birth in DD/MM/YYYY format)
- Captcha Code (if displayed)
Click "Login" to access your dashboard
Step 4: Fill Part I - Personal & Educational Details
Once logged in, you'll see the application form divided into multiple parts. Start with Part I:
A. Personal Information:
- Verify auto-filled details (name, DOB, father's/mother's name)
- Select Gender (Male/Female/Transgender)
- Choose Nationality (Indian)
- Select Religion (optional but recommended)
B. Category & Reservation Details:
- Category: UR/OBC (NCL)/SC/ST/EWS
- PwBD Status: Yes/No (if yes, select disability type and percentage)
- Ex-Servicemen: Yes/No
- Minority Community: Yes/No (if applicable)
- Economically Backward Class: Yes/No
C. Educational Qualification:
- For Undergraduate Posts: Select 12th/Intermediate with a subject combination
- For Graduate Posts: Select degree type (B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./B.Tech, etc.) with specialization
- Enter Percentage/CGPA (as per mark sheet)
- Enter Roll Number and Year of Passing
- Select Board/University name
D. Communication Details:
- Enter your complete permanent address with PIN code
- Enter correspondence address (if different)
- Verify registered mobile number and email
E. Identity Verification:
- Aadhaar Authentication (recommended - enables DigiLocker integration)
- Or upload alternate Photo ID proof
Important: All details entered here are final and cannot be changed after submission (except during the correction window). Double-check everything before saving.

Step 5: Pay Application Fee
After completing Part I, you'll be directed to the Payment Gateway:

Payment Methods Available:
- Net Banking (all major banks)
- Debit Card (Visa/Mastercard/RuPay)
- Credit Card (Visa/Mastercard)
- UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM UPI)
Payment Steps:
- Select your preferred payment mode
- Enter bank/card/UPI details
- Complete transaction securely
- Save transaction ID and receipt (proof of payment)
- Return to the application portal after successful payment
Important Notes:
- Fee once paid is non-refundable if the application is rejected due to ineligibility
- Payment must be completed before the last date to avoid rejection
- Keep the payment receipt for future reference
Step 6: Fill Part II - Post & Language Preferences
After fee payment, proceed to Part II of the application:
A. Post Preferences:
- For Graduate Level: Choose from available posts (Chief Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor, Station Master, Goods Train Manager, Junior Accountant, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, etc.)
- For Undergraduate Level: Select from posts requiring 12th qualification
- Priority Order: Arrange posts in order of preference (most preferred to least)
- You can select multiple posts if eligible
B. RRB Zone Preference:
- Select up to 3 RRB zones in order of preference (where you wish to appear for exam)
- Example: 1st Preference: RRB Mumbai, 2nd: RRB Pune, 3rd: RRB Ahmedabad
- Cannot be changed after submission
C. Examination Language:
- Select medium of examination from available languages:
- English, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Marathi, Manipuri, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Assamese
D. Community Preference (if applicable):
- If you belong to minority community or specific state, select relevant options
Click "Save & Continue"
Step 7: Upload Photograph & Signature
This is a critical step - incorrect uploads lead to application rejection.
A. Upload Recent Photograph:
- Click "Browse" or "Choose File"
- Select photograph file from your computer
- Verify before uploading:
- File format: JPG/JPEG only
- File size: 20-70 KB
- Dimensions: 35mm × 45mm or 320 × 240 pixels
- Background: White/light color
- Face clearly visible
- Recent photo (within 3 months)
- Click "Upload"
B. Upload Signature:
- Click "Browse" for signature upload
- Verify:
- File format: JPG/JPEG
- File size: 10-40 KB
- Dimensions: 50mm × 20mm or 140 × 60 pixels
- Running handwriting (not block letters)
- Black/blue ink on white paper
- Click "Upload"
C. Live Photo Capture (for some RRBs):
- Some RRBs require live photo using webcam or mobile camera
- Follow on-screen instructions carefully
- Remove cap, mask, glasses
- Neutral expression, proper lighting
- Multiple attempts allowed if photo unclear
D. Upload Category Certificates (if applicable):
- SC/ST certificate
- OBC NCL certificate
- EWS certificate
- PwBD certificate
- Ex-Servicemen discharge certificate
- Format: PDF or JPG
- Size: Maximum 1 MB per document
Important: The uploaded photo and signature will appear on the admit card, during the exam, and in the final appointment. Ensure they match your original appearance.

Step 8: Scribe Details (For PwBD Candidates Only)
If you have 40% or more disability and require a scribe to assist during the exam:
Scribe Registration Window: December 3-7, 2025 (tentative)
Details Required:
- Scribe's Name
- Scribe's Date of Birth
- Scribe's Educational Qualification (must be lower than the candidate's)
- Scribe's ID Proof
- Undertaking signed by both candidate and scribe
Note: Scribe details can be filled during the specified window only, not during the initial application.
Step 9: Preview & Final Submission
Before final submission, carefully review your entire application:
A. Click "Preview Application"
- All entered details will be displayed
- Check every field carefully:
- Name spelling
- Date of birth
- Category
- Educational qualification
- Post preferences
- Contact details
- Uploaded documents
B. Make Corrections (if needed):
- If you find errors, click "Edit" for respective sections
- Make necessary changes
- Save again
C. Declaration & Undertaking:
- Read the declaration statement thoroughly
- Tick the checkbox confirming:
- All information provided is true and correct
- You understand that providing false information leads to disqualification
- You accept all terms and conditions
D. Final Submission:
- Click the "Final Submit" button
- A confirmation message will appear
- Note down the Application Number (different from Registration Number)
E. Download & Print:
- Click "Download Application Form" or "Print Application"
- Save PDF file on your computer
- Print 2-3 copies for future reference
- Also print fee payment receipt
