Section-wise Preparation Strategy

English Section Preparation Strategy

This was the easiest section for me because of my background. The extensive reading of newspapers and various blogs helped me to cement my concepts & improved my vocabulary.

SSC CGL Tier I Free Mock

Quantitative Aptitude Section Preparation Strategy

This section was my weakest, so i tried to bring it to average before the prelims. I cemented my concepts, practiced in a way similar to the reasoning section. Further, i made my other sections strong so as to make up for the quants section.

Reasoning Section Preparation Strategy

Regular practice helped me a lot. In the last two months before prelims, I used to set a target of 300 questions per day which improved my speed & approach in a steep curve.

General Awareness Section Preparation Strategy

I used weekly & monthly capsules of bankersadda, gradeup & oliveboard for the same. Further, i used to test my GA preparation by attempting the free gk monthly tests available on PracticeMock & Oliveboard mobile App.

SSC CGL Tier I Free Mock

Overall Strategy

Practice free small sectional tests provided by different educational applications like Adda, Oliveboad, PM & others. Apart from that try to attempt at least 3 mocks every week, make it 2 each day during the last 10 days before the exam. Analyze it and try to improve every attempt.

Overall Strategy, Study Schedule & Challenges Faced

Strategy- I tried to cover multiple sources. I used to watch videoes of at least 5-6 different educational channels at the same time and used the same technique to practice. It helped me to cover as much ground as possible.

Study Schedule- It was more dependent on how motivated i am, but i tried to study for about 6 hours or more daily.

I purchased PM Pro in March 2019. I made it my primary source of mock tests for all the exams i was preparing for. After pre exam i realised that the difficulty level of Pre was similar to the mock tests of PM. Additionally I also used the Current affairs small modules of 500 questions, Index/rankings, GDP estimates etc to revise GA.

My advice for aspirants would be to have confidence in themselves. Don’t give in to negative words of anyone else. You have the potential, by hard work & perseverance you’re bound to achieve success.
