Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories. Additionally, candidates must have valid ID proof, academic documents, and meet the specific medical standards (A3, B1, etc.) at the time of joining. Failing to meet these criteria will lead to disqualification from the recruitment process.

RRB JE Age Limit

Age is a crucial factor. For the 2026 cycle (CEN 05/2025), the board has provided a special relaxation of 3 years due to delayed recruitment. This means the General category limit is up to 36 years instead of the usual 33.

RRB JE Educational Qualification

To apply for RRB Junior Engineer, you must have the following technical qualifications:

  • For JE Post: Three-year Diploma in Engineering OR a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) from a recognized University/Institute.
  • For DMS Post: Diploma or Degree in Engineering in any discipline.
  • For CMA Post: Bachelor’s Degree in Science (B.Sc) with Physics and Chemistry.

Note: Final year students waiting for results are not eligible. You must have the passing certificate in hand.

RRB JE Percentage Required

There is no minimum percentage required for the Junior Engineer post.

Whether you scored 90% or just passed your Diploma/Degree, you are eligible to apply. You simply need to have passed the course. However, for the Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA) post, a minimum of 45% marks is required in B.Sc.

RRB JE Nationality

A candidate must be either:

  1. A Citizen of India, or
  2. A subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or
  3. A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling here.
