RRB ALP Exam Analysis 2026: 13th February, Shift 1

Section-Wise Analysis
1. Mathematics (Moderate)
The questions in this section were calculation-intensive but manageable. Most questions were based on fundamental arithmetic concepts:
- Key Topics: Percentage, Profit & Loss, Average, Simple & Compound Interest, Time & Work, and Number System.
- Candidate Feedback: Aspirants found the questions direct, though time management was crucial due to the calculative nature of the arithmetic problems.
2. Mental Ability/Reasoning (Easy to Moderate)
This was the most scoring section for many. The questions were designed to test logical thinking without being overly complex.
- Key Topics: Coding-Decoding, Series (Number and Alphabetical), Blood Relations, Direction Sense, and Puzzles (approx. 2 sets).
- Candidate Feedback: Students who practised previous year papers found this section very familiar and easy to navigate.
3. General Science (Moderate)
Questions were strictly based on the 10th-standard NCERT syllabus, focusing on conceptual clarity.
- Physics: Units, Motion, Work, and Electricity (Current).
- Chemistry: pH values, Chemical reactions, and Periodic table basics.
- Biology: Human body, Nutrition, and Life processes.
4. General Awareness (Moderate)
With only 10 questions, this section was concise but broad in scope.
- Focus Areas: Railway-specific GK, recent Government Schemes, Sports, Awards, and Static GK.
RRB ALP CBT 1 Exam Pattern 2026
As a reminder for candidates appearing in the upcoming shifts (Feb 16, 17, and 18), here is the structure of the exam:
- Total Questions: 75
- Total Time: 60 Minutes
- Marking Scheme: +1 for every correct answer.
- Negative Marking: 1/3rd mark deducted for every wrong answer.
Preparation Tips for Upcoming Shifts
- Speed in Math: Focus on shortcuts for Arithmetic to save time for the Science section.
- NCERT Revision: Quickly brush up on 9th and 10th-grade Science concepts as questions are direct but conceptual.
- Reasoning Puzzles: Don’t get stuck on puzzles; solve the one-liners first to secure easy marks.
- Stay Calm: Given the 1/3 negative marking, prioritise accuracy over the number of attempts.
Conclusion: The February 13th Shift 1 analysis suggests a balanced paper. If you have maintained an accuracy of over 90% with 50-55 attempts, you are in a safe zone for the next stage of the recruitment process. Best of luck to those appearing in the next shifts!
