ANSWER KEYS and SOLUTIONS:

1) – B)2) – B)3) – B)4) – C)5) – B)6) – A)
7) – A)8) – D)9) – D)10) – E)

Solution 1: B)

Let the initial investments of Karan, Charu and Kirti are Rs. 6x, Rs. 5x and Rs. 7x respectively.

Let the additional investments of Karan, Charu and Kirti are Rs. 3y, Rs. y and Rs. 5y respectively.

Ratio of their investments = (6x + 6x + 3y): (5x + 5x + y): (7x + 7x + 5y) = (12x + 3y): (10x + y): (14x + 5y)

So the profit share of Karan = (12x + 3y)/(36x + 9y) × 1260 = (12x + 3y)/3(12x + 3y) × 1260 = 1260/3 = Rs. 420

So the average profit share of Charu and Kirti = (1260 – 420)/2 = Rs. 420

Hence, option b.

Solution 2: B)

Initial Investment of John = Rs. 6400

Initial Investment of Khaleesi = Rs. 7200

Initial Investment of Arya = 6400 × 1.125 = Rs. 7200

Ratio of share of Profit:

John: Khaleesi: Arya = (6400 × 12): (7200 × 12): (7200 × 9) = 32: 36: 27

Therefore, profit share of John = [32/(32 + 36 + 27)] × 3800 = Rs. 1280

Hence, option b.

RBI Assistant Prelims Free Mock Test 2023

Solution 3: B)

Ratio of profit share:

Sudeep: Vikram = 3200: 4000 = 4: 5

Let, total profit be Rs. 4x.

So, amount received by Sudeep as profit = x + (4/9) × 2x = Rs. (17x/9)

So, amount received by Vikram as profit = x + (5/9) × 2x = Rs. (19x/9)

According to question,

(19x/9) – (17x/9) = 100

(2x/9) = 100

x = (9/2) × 100 = 450

Therefore, total profit = 450 × 4 = Rs. 1800

Hence, option b.

Solution 4: C)

Ratio of their investments = 1250 + 1250 + x + 650: 1750 + 1750 + x + 500: 2000 + 2000 + x + 850

= 3150 + x: 4000 + x: 4850 + x

So the profit share of Vikesh = {(4000 + x)/(12000 + 3x)} × 3540 = 1/3 × 3540 = Rs. 1,180

Hence, option c.

Solution 5: B)

Let the initial investments of Govind, Amit and Rajan be Rs. 6x, Rs. 3x and Rs. 2x, respectively.

So, the ratio of their profits = 6x + 6x + 1120: 3x + 3x + 780: 2x + 2x + 960 = 12x + 1120: 6x + 780: 4x + 960

Profit share of Amit = {(6x + 780)/(22x + 2860)} × 7975 = [{3(2x + 260)}/{11(2x + 260)}] × 7975

= (3/11) × 7975 = Rs. 2,175

Hence, option b.

Solution 6: A)

Total investment of Meenu in 2 years = 1600 + 1600 = Rs. 3200

Total investment of Neha in 2 years = 2400 + 2400 = Rs. 4800

Total investment of Shivani = Rs. 2800

Ratio of profit share of Meenu, Neha, and Shivani = 3200:4800:2800 = 8:12:7

Profit share of Meenu = (8/27) × 8100 = Rs. 2400

Hence, option a.

RBI Assistant Prelims Free Mock Test 2023

Solution 7: A)

Respective ratio of the profits of Chaman, Gaurav and Isha = 2100 + 2100 + x + 300: 2400 + 2400 + x + 200: 2700 + 2700 + x + 100 = 4500 + x: 5000 + x: 5500 + x

So the profit share of Gaurav = (5000 + x)/(15000 + 3x) × 3240 = (5000 + x)/3(5000 + x) × 3240 = 3240/3 = Rs. 1,080

Hence, option a.

Solution 8: D)

According to the question

Ratio of profit share of Piyush and Rajesh = 2000 × 12: 2400 × 8 = 5:4

Profit share of Rajesh = 1350 × 4/9 = Rs. 600

Hence, option d.

Solution 9: D)

Ratio of investments of Rajneesh, Rakesh and Ramesh = 1000 + 1000 + 90: 1100 + 1100 + 150: 1250 + 1250 + 110

= 2090: 2350: 2610 = 209:235:261

Profit share of Ramesh = 261/(209 + 235 + 261) × 3525 = 261/705 × 3525 = Rs. 1,305

Hence, option d.

RBI Assistant Prelims Free Mock Test 2023

Solution 10: E)

Ratio of profit of A to B = (13x + 25) × 6:(20x – 25) × 8 = (13x + 25) × 3:(20x – 25) × 4

According to question,

[4 × (20x – 25)]/[(13x + 25) × 3 + (20x – 25) × 4] = 1778/2667 = 2/3

2 × 3 × (20x – 25) = (39x + 75 + 80x – 100)

120x – 150 = 119x – 25

x = 125

So, amount invested by A = 13 × 125 + 25 = Rs. 1650

Hence, option e.
