LIC AAO Mains Exam Pattern 2025

Before starting your preparation, it’s important to know the structure of the LIC AAO Mains Exam 2025. The exam is conducted online and consists of objective and descriptive tests. The objective test has five sections: Reasoning Ability, General Knowledge & Current Affairs, Data Analysis & Interpretation, Insurance & Financial Market Awareness, and English Language. For example, the Reasoning section has 30 questions worth 90 marks, meaning each question carries 3 marks. The total marks for the objective paper are 300, and the total duration is 2 hours.

The descriptive paper tests English communication skills like emails, reports, precis writing, and situation analysis. It is qualifying in nature, and its marks are not added to your final score. It will only be evaluated if you qualify in the objective test. One major advantage of the LIC AAO Mains Exam is that there is no negative marking, so you can attempt all questions without fear. However, to move to the interview stage, candidates must qualify in each section separately.
