SSC MTS 2025 exam is to be conducted from February 4 to 15, 2026. As you know, the exam is divided into two parts: Session 1 and Session 2. Session 1 includes Reasoning and Maths, while Session 2 includes English and GK. Many students take Session 1 lightly because it is “Qualifying” in nature. But if you do not clear the cutoff for Session 1, your Session 2 paper will not be checked. This means you will fail the exam even if you score full marks in English and GK. The smartest way to clear Session 1 is to focus on Reasoning. It is easier than Maths, takes less time, and is very scoring. To help you practice, we have provided Free SSC MTS Reasoning Topic Tests. These short tests will help you master logic quickly. In this blog, we have provided direct links to these free tests so you can start practicing today.

Know Your SSC MTS Reasoning Syllabus

The syllabus for SSC MTS Reasoning is very simple. It tests your common sense and basic logic. You don’t need to memorize any formulas.

Key Topics to Master:

  • Coding-Decoding: This is the most asked topic. You have to crack the pattern (like A=1, B=2).
  • Analogy: Finding the relationship (e.g., if Doctor : Hospital, then Teacher : ?).
  • Series: Completing the chain of numbers or letters.
  • Non-Verbal: These are picture-based questions. Very easy and high scoring!
  • Syllogism: “All cats are dogs” type questions. Use Venn diagrams to solve them.
  • Mathematical Operations: Changing signs (+ becomes -) and solving the equation.

Why Reasoning Topic Tests Are Important?

Most candidates think that they can easily solve the reasoning questions, and they are not wrong, but they don’t know how to solve reasoning questions; they need to take tests for each topic under time constraints. Below, we have mentioned some reasons that will help you know why you should solve SSC MTS reasoning topic tests.

  1. Safest Way to Qualify: Since you need to clear the cutoff in Session 1, Reasoning is your safest bet. It is less risky than Maths because there are no complex calculations.
  2. Save Time: A Reasoning topic test takes only 10-12 minutes. You can easily fit it into your daily schedule without disturbing your English/GK preparation.
  3. Boost Confidence: When you solve 10 questions of “Mirror Image” correctly in a row, your confidence skyrockets. It removes exam anxiety.
  4. No Negative Marking (Usually): In Session 1, there is generally no negative marking (check the latest notification). This means you can attempt all questions! Topic tests help you learn how to guess intelligently.

How to Use Reasoning Topic Tests?

  • One Topic Daily: Don’t try to do everything at once. Monday for Series, Tuesday for Coding, Wednesday for Analogy.
  • Focus on Visuals: For Non-Verbal reasoning (Mirror image, paper folding), don’t use a pen. Try to solve it by just looking at the screen. This saves time.
  • Learn the Alphabet Rank: Memorize the position of letters (A=1, M=13, Z=26). This one trick will help you solve Coding and Series questions in seconds.
  • Analyze Mistakes: If you get a question wrong, check the solution. Understand the logic behind it so you don’t repeat the mistake.

FAQs: SSC MTS Reasoning Topic Tests

Is Reasoning marks added to the final merit list?

No. In the current SSC MTS pattern, Reasoning marks are part of Session 1, which is qualifying. The final merit is based on Session 2 (English & GK).

Why should I study Reasoning if it’s just qualifying?

You must clear the minimum cutoff in Session 1 to get your Session 2 paper checked. If you fail in Reasoning/Maths, you are disqualified, no matter how well you did in English/GK.

Are these topic tests free?

Yes! All the topic tests provided in the links above are 100% free to attempt.

How much time should I give to Reasoning daily?

Since it is qualifying, 30 minutes of practice daily is enough. Use the rest of your time for English and General Awareness.

Is there negative marking in Reasoning?

Usually, there is no negative marking in Session 1 (Maths & Reasoning). However, always read the instructions on your admit card carefully before the exam.
