How to Calculate Marks Using the RRB NTPC Graduate Level Answer Key
- Award 1 mark for every correct answer.
- Deduct 1/3 mark for each incorrect answer.
- First, calculate the total marks obtained from correct answers.
- Then, calculate the total negative marks from incorrect answers.
- Finally, subtract the negative marks from the positive marks to get your estimated score.
Formula:
Raw Score = Total Correct Answers − (Total Incorrect Answers × 1/3)
Example:
If you attempted 80 questions, out of which:
- 70 are correct
- 10 are incorrect
Then:
- Positive Marks = 70
- Negative Marks = 10 × 0.33 = 3.3
- Raw Score = 70 − 3.3 = 66.7
RRB NTPC Minimum Qualifying Marks
The minimum qualifying percentage for different categories is:
- UR (General): 40%
- EWS: 40%
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 30%
- SC: 30%
- ST: 30%

What is “Raising an Objection”?
Sometimes, the official answer given by the railway board might be wrong. Or, a question might have two correct options. If you are 100% sure that your answer is right and the board’s answer is wrong, you can challenge it. This is called “raising an objection.” Here are the simple rules for raising an objection:
1. What is the Fee?
To challenge one question, you have to pay Rs. 50/- (plus basic bank charges). If you want to challenge two questions, you have to pay Rs. 100/-, and so on.
2. Will I Get My Money Back?
Yes! If your objection is correct and the board accepts their mistake, your Rs. 50 per question will be refunded to your bank account safely. But if your objection is wrong, the fee will not be refunded.
3. How Can I Pay the Fee?
The online payment process is very simple. You can use:
- Debit Cards or Credit Cards
- UPI (Like Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm)
- Net Banking
Conclusion
Download your answer key immediately and save it as a PDF on your phone. Match all your correct and incorrect answers to calculate your raw score. Remember, there is a negative marking of 1/3rd for every wrong answer. If your score is good, do not waste time and start your preparation for the CBT-2 mains exam right now.
