PracticeMock’s Conversation with Shreyash Sharma
Let’s find out how Shreyash turned his dream into a reality:
Q. Please brief us on when you started preparing for the competitive exams and how your preparation journey was.
I had started my prep in 2018 for UPSC CSE after I quit my job at a private company, Tata Motors, after which I relentlessly gave UPSC till 2022, in which I wrote two mains, and finally, in 2022, I decided that I needed a job, and I switched my preparation to banking and SSC.
Q. Which exams have you appeared in to date, and what were their results?
I appeared for countless numbers of exams, and finally I am able to clear the mentioned exams. All regulatory bodies’ mains as well.
Q. How did you prepare for the English section?
Reading newspapers and mocks of PM are excellent.
Q. How did you prepare for the Quantitative Aptitude section?
For the Quantitative Aptitude section, I took help from PM mocks and YouTube.
Q. What was your overall strategy? Did you follow a study schedule? If yes, please share the details.
Before the job I followed a fixed schedule, but after working in the bank and then FCI, I just rely on PM mocks, especially for quants and reasoning.
Q. Did you face any hurdles as well? How did you overcome it?
COVID-19 was the biggest hurdle, which broke my spirit and prep phase of UPSC. With no age relaxation and few job opportunities, it was very hard to back oneself up. With constant family support and motivation, I am finally able to reach a central government job at the Supreme Court.
Q. Did PracticeMock help you in your success? Please elaborate.
PM mocks made me resilient and boosted up my level in QRE, which was a very weak area for me as a starter. I am an avid follower of PM still preparing for regulatory from PracticeMock.
Q. What’s your message for the fellow aspirants who are preparing for competitive exams?
Don’t lose hope. Don’t lose focus on outside negativity. Just do your work, and everything will turn your way one day or another. It’s just a matter of time.
