His disciplined study routine, consistent mock test practice on PracticeMock, and unwavering belief in his process turned his rollercoaster journey into a success story worth sharing.

PracticeMock’s Conversation with Saurabh Kumar Singh

Let’s find out how Saurabh turned his dream into a reality:

Q. Please brief us on when you started preparing for the competitive exams and how your preparation journey was

If I talk about my journey, it has been a roller coaster. I had started my preparation in the second wave of Covid in 2021. During that lockdown period, I watched some videos of respective subjects from a platform to clear my concepts, and at the end of that year, I got to know about PRACTICEMOCK, and without any hesitation, I had just purchased it. Initially I didn’t get decent marks because the level of questions was so good, but I didn’t stop giving mocks and analyzing them; eventually marks improved a lot in both prelims and mains. Also, sectional mocks have been so helpful because the level is not compromised there either.
I was getting decent marks in the mocks that were on the platform like PM, but as said in the beginning, it has been a roller coaster.
In 2021 I hadn’t cleared a single prelim, but in 2022 I cleared 4 prelims, and in 2023 I cleared 6 prelims, but something was lagging in the mains, which I have improved in 2024 and cleared 4 mains: RRB PO, RRB CLERK (FINAL SELECTION), IBPS PO, and IBPS CLERK (Reserve list by 0.3), and PracticeMock has been one of the reasons for my improvement because I only practice from the mocks, which have been so helpful.
From 2021 till date I have had PracticeMock subscriptions, and I have suggested so many aspirants since then because the contents are examination-relevant, which is rare to find at an affordable price, whether full mocks, sectional mocks, mains mocks, or their explanations.
Thank you, PracticeMock, once again.

Q. Which exams have you appeared in to date, and what were their results?

If I talk about 2024-25, I have appeared in RRB PO, RRB CLERK, IBPS PO, IBPS CLERK, SBI CLERK, NICL AO, and SBI PO. And talking about the results: RRB PO mains cleared (not final selection), RRB CLERK (FINAL SELECTION),IBPS PO mains cleared (not final selection), IBPS CLERK (RESERVE LIST BY 0.3), SBI CLERK (MAINS RESULT PENDING), NICL AO (MAINS NOT CLEAR),SBI PO (PRELIMS NOT CLEAR).

Q. How did you prepare for the English section?

Initially I had followed Nimisha Bansal mam for basic grammar and how to deal with the question then I practiced from mocks (mostly PM) and by reading the daily newspaper. Reading is very important in the banking examination.

Q. What was your strategy for the General Awareness section?

I had followed Dr. Gaurav Garg for videos, and I used to revise from PDFs and make notes.
And for practice questions, I followed the PracticeMock General Awareness Test; they are exam relevant.
I would suggest one video source is important.

Q. What was your overall strategy? Did you follow a study schedule? If yes, please share the details.

Initially I was not consistent, but in 2023 I joined the library, and my schedule was like this: I am an early bird, so I like to study in the daytime, and my most productive period was the morning. I used to make to-do lists and set some daily or weekly goals that needed to be done.

Q. Did you face any hurdles as well? How did you overcome it?

I have failed so many exams that sometimes I used to think, “Would I be able to clear it?” But the support of family has been instrumental. Because of them, I was able to overcome so many failures; otherwise, the 4-year journey would not have been easy.

Q. Did PracticeMock help you in your success? Please elaborate.

Yes, a lot.
PracticeMock has been so helpful since 2021, and I have attempted so many mocks from this great platform. The helps are as follows:
(1) Prelims mocks with exam relevant questions
(2) Mains mocks with exam relevant questions
(3) Sectional mocks of each examination separately. This is unique; no other platform does that.
(4) General awareness test
(5) TOPIC Test of 10Q for each subject and each chapter, which is very helpful for boosting speed, accuracy, and concepts.
Overall, practiceMock has been so helpful, and I am very grateful for that .

Q. What’s your message for the fellow aspirants who are preparing for competitive exams?

Just believe in yourself and work hard eventually you will clear examinations.
You are not less than anyone, so just be confident about yourself and your process.
Most importantly, follow your own strategy.
