Avijit Sarkar’s Success Story

I started my competitive exam preparation in July 2018 and enrolled myself in a coaching centre. I cleared all the basics of all the subjects in 5-6 months and after that I started to give exams from 2019 onwards. At that time I was giving every exams coming in my way. Every exam means all the exams I heard of like Railways, State PSC exams, Civil service exams, Bank exams and many more literally every exams. And due this I could not focus on a specific exam and as a result I did not get any positive outcome. Then I decided to prepare for only Bank exams and it worked for me. From January 2020 I prepared solely for Banking exams and started to give every Bank exams. And now finally my every struggle and sufferings paid me back. It’s really a dream come true.

As far as previous exams are concerned, I have given these exams:

2019:

In 2019 I appeared for all the Bank exams – SBI PO, SBI CLERK, IBPS RRB PO, IBPS RRB CLERK, IBPS PO, IBPS CLERK – but could not clear any prelims. It really was a hard time for me.

2020:

  • SBI PO: Did not appear
  • SBI CLERK: In this exam I cleared the prelims and appeared for Mains exam but could not clear it as I got 2 marks less than the actual cut off. It really broke me.
  • IBPS RRB PO: Out in Prelims by 3 marks
  • IBPS RRB PO: Out in Prelims by 5 marks
  • SBI PO: Cleared both Prelims and Mains exam and appeared for the Interview but was unable and unfortunate to clear it because I got only 22 marks out of 50.
  • IBPS PO: Selected in Canara Bank
  • IBPS CLERK: Selected in Canara Bank

Overall Strategy, Study Schedule & Challenges Faced

My overall strategy was to work hard consistently and efficiently. I always tried to make my strong section the strongest and weaker/average section strong enough to score good marks. I did not make any study schedule. I read about 8-10 hours everyday and whenever I liked to.

Yes, I faced a lot of hurdles. I was average in Quantitative Aptitude section so I used to practice a lot of every chapter. And focused on Mains level DI and arithmetic. This helped me a lot. Mains level puzzle was another hurdle. To overcome this I used to solve mains level puzzle daily.
