Staff Selection Commission Announces Important Changes for SSC JE Mains 2023 Paper II

New Delhi, November 6, 2023

In a recent notification (HQ-C-II01/23/2023-C2) issued by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC), significant changes have been introduced for the upcoming Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical & Electrical) Examination 2023 Paper II.

The notification, released by the C-II Section of the SSC, particularly addresses candidates attempting Part-A: General Engineering (Civil & Structural) and provides important information regarding the necessary tables from IS 456:2000, the code of practice.

Notably, candidates are informed that the tables required from the IS 456:2000 code of practice, which were traditionally provided in printed booklet form, will now be available on the Candidates’ console. These tables can be accessed through the “Useful Data” option, located next to the Instructions Option.

During the examination, the “Useful Data” button will remain active, allowing candidates to refer to the IS 456:2000 code of practice tables as needed. Upon referring to the tables, candidates are advised to click on the close button to return to the examination interface to answer questions.

SSC JE Mains 2023 Exam-On-Screen Scientific Calculator

In addition to the IS 456:2000 code of practice tables, the SSC has also made a Scientific Calculator available on the computer screen for the entire duration of the examination. This calculator can be accessed by clicking on the Calculator icon, which will be situated towards the left side of the Candidate application image.

It’s important to note that, as per the notification, no physical versions of the table and calculator will be allowed in the examination hall.

The SSC has implemented these changes to enhance the examination process and provide candidates with more accessible and convenient tools to complete the SSC JE Mains 2023 Paper II. Candidates are encouraged to familiarize themselves with these new provisions before the examination to ensure a smooth testing experience.
