The examination schedule is as follows:

For JE (Telecommunication), candidates should monitor the official website for the city-intimation update closer to the examination dates. Do not treat an estimated date shared by an unofficial source as a confirmed SSC announcement.

What If the SSC JE City Intimation Slip Is Not Showing?

Some candidates may be unable to see their allotted examination city immediately. This does not, by itself, establish that their application has been rejected or that their examination has been cancelled.

If the city details are not visible, candidates should follow these steps:

1. Check your login details: Verify that you are using the correct username or registration details and password for the current SSC portal.

2. Check the correct examination: Make sure you have opened the Junior Engineer Examination 2026 section, rather than a link for another SSC examination.

3. Log in again later: If the relevant information is not available in your account, revisit the official portal and check for updates.

SSC JE City Intimation Slip vs Admit Card 2026

The city-intimation slip and the admit card, also called the Admission Certificate or e-call letter, serve different purposes. Candidates must download the Admission Certificate separately.

Candidates should not travel to an assumed centre based only on the city name. The exact venue, reporting time and other instructions should be checked on the Admission Certificate once it is released.

SSC JE Admit Card 2026: Expected Release Date

According to the latest notice, downloading of Admission Certificates is expected to start approximately 2 to 3 days before each candidate’s examination date. The following dates are indicative estimates based on that interval, not separate official release announcements.

Candidates should check the official SSC login regularly because the actual availability date may depend on the Commission’s schedule. The Admission Certificate should be downloaded as soon as it becomes available.

Important SSC JE 2026 Instructions for Candidates

The latest notice contains additional instructions that some candidates need to complete before their examination.

1. Own Scribe Registration and Mapping

Candidates opting for their own scribe should read the latest SSC instructions carefully. The updated process requires the relevant scribe registration and mapping steps to be completed in accordance with the Commission’s instructions.

Deadline for Scribe OTR Mapping: 27 October 2026, 11:00 PM.

Candidates who require an own scribe should confirm whether a fresh Aadhaar-authenticated scribe registration is necessary and complete the required mapping through the official SSC portal. The Scribe Entry Pass is generated only after the required mapping is completed successfully, as per the applicable instructions.

2. Scientific Assistant Subject Selection

Candidates to whom the Scientific Assistant subject-selection instructions apply should review the choices displayed during the city-intimation process.

For the eligible group covered by the SSC instructions, the default subject may be Electronics and Telecommunication (EC/TC), while the permitted alternatives include Computer Science and Information Technology (CS/IT) or Physics.

Subject-Change Deadline: 27 October 2026, 11:00 PM.

This instruction applies only to candidates covered by the specific subject-selection provision in the official notice. Candidates should read the notice and confirm their eligibility before making any change. They should not assume that a subject change is available to every SSC JE applicant.

3. Check the Official Notice Before the Exam

Candidates should read the SSC notice dated 23 October 2026 and any subsequent updates relevant to their examination. This is particularly important for candidates using a scribe or those covered by the Scientific Assistant subject-selection instructions.

What Should Candidates Do After Checking the SSC JE Exam City?

After viewing their allotted city and date, candidates should complete the following tasks:

• Confirm the details: Check the examination city and date shown in their own SSC login.
• Plan travel in advance: Make transport and accommodation arrangements if the examination city is far from home.
• Keep login information ready: Ensure they can access their SSC account when the Admission Certificate is released.
• Download the Admission Certificate separately: The city slip is not valid for examination entry.
• Check the centre address: Follow the venue, reporting time and gate-closure instructions printed on the Admission Certificate.
• Prepare the required documents: Carry the Admission Certificate and the identity documents specified in the official instructions.
• Complete applicable special requirements: Candidates using an own scribe or covered by Scientific Assistant subject-selection rules should meet the relevant deadlines.
• Follow official updates: Check the SSC website for any changes or additional instructions before the examination.

These steps can help candidates avoid last-minute confusion and focus on their examination preparation.
