SSC Exam Guidelines Instructions that You Should Follow

Thorough preparation extends beyond just studying. It includes understanding the administrative requirements and having your documents in order. Below, we have mentioned some important SSC exam guidelines and instructions 2025 that you should take care of before appearing in the exam.

1. Admit Card is Most Important:

  • Your admit card is a mandatory document that you should take with you to the exam center. Without an admit card, you will not be allowed to enter the examination hall.
  • SSC mainly provides the admit card 4-5 days before the exam, which you can download from their official website.
  • Download and print it well in advance from the official SSC website.
  • Do NOT write anything on your Admission Certificate before entering the examination hall.
  • Make sure you have checked all the details mentioned on the admit card, such as your Name, Roll Number, Date, Time, and Exam Venue. If you find any discrepancies, immediately contact the concerned Regional Office of the SSC for necessary corrections.

2. Valid Photo ID Proof (Original is a Must!):

  • You must carry an original, valid photo identity proof. Accepted IDs include:
    • Aadhaar Card or e-Aadhaar printout
    • Passport
    • PAN Card
    • Voter ID
    • Driving Licence
    • Service ID Card (Central/State Govt. or PSUs)
    • Student ID Card (from a recognized institution)
    • Ex-servicemen Discharge Book
  • Important Point: If your Date of Birth on the ID proof does not match the one on your admission certificate, you must present an additional original supporting document (e.g., 10th marksheet or birth certificate issued by a recognized authority).

3. Essential Items to Carry (and What NOT to Carry):

  • Allowed:
    • Printed copy of your Admit Card.
    • Original Valid Photo ID proof.
    • Two passport-sized photographs (as per SSC guidelines, typically for pasting on the attendance sheet).
    • A simple black ballpoint pen (for rough work and filling details if required).
    • A transparent water bottle (if needed, check specific exam guidelines).
  • Strictly Prohibited:
    • Mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, smartwatches, calculators, or any other electronic/communication devices.
    • Books, chits, notes, or any other printed/written material.
    • Bags, purses, and valuables (no storage facility will be provided by SSC).
    • Ornaments, metallic items (nose pins, charms, bracelets, etc., unless required by religion and declared).
    • Face coverings or masks during the exam (unless specific health protocols are announced).

4. Dress Code Considerations:

  • Opt for comfortable, light-colored clothing without excessive pockets or metallic embellishments.
  • Avoid wearing jewelry or accessories that could raise suspicion during security checks.
  • This helps in facilitating smooth biometric verification and security procedures.

5. Visit the Exam Venue in Advance:

  • To avoid any last-minute stress or delays, it is highly advisable to visit your examination center at least a day or two before the actual exam. This helps you familiarize yourself with the route and commute time.

SSC Exam Guidelines Instructions for Reporting Time & Entry Rules

Here we have mentioned the SSC exam guidelines that you should follow at reporting time and entry rules.

1. Reach Early:

  • Arrive at the exam center at least 60–90 minutes before the reporting time. Late entry is strictly not allowed. You are highly advised to check the report, exam timing, and plan your travel accordingly.

2. Biometric Verification:

  • You will undergo biometric verification (fingerprint & photo capture), so your hands must be clean and free.
