However, there is not too much information out there about these exams but we have tried our best to cover all the relevant details PSCB aspirants should be aware of.

The exam dates are still awaited for PSCB but one can’t really afford to delay the preparations anymore. Here are all the details about the syllabus and exam pattern which you should be aware of by now:

PSCB Clerk-cum Data Entry Operator Exam Pattern

S.No  Subjects Marks
1.  Punjabi 15
2.  Computer Application 15
3.  Reasoning ability 15
4.  Quantitative Aptitude 15
5.  General Awareness and Banking Awareness 25
6.  English  15

The total for the exam would be 100 marks. The duration would be two hours to finish the PSCB Clerk exam.

PSCB will surely be a preferable job choice for many of the Punjabi aspirants as it only requires you to clear one round of examination. With other banking exams, you generally have to surpass two to three rounds of examination. For example, for SBI Clerk you are expected to crack both prelims and mains. In PSCB, if you crack the paper once you are done. You can expect your offer or joining letter soon enough by the responsible authority.

Exam Pattern Analysis

The exam is very well designed by giving fair weightage of marks for every subject. The subjects chosen are very relevant to the job profile of a clerical candidate. Every subject is allotted 15 marks each except for the general awareness and banking awareness section. The GA section is valued at 25 marks. The pattern with PSCB is such that it looks like a combined mini version of prelims and mains of other banking exams such as SBI and IBPS. It’s really a mix of the subjects served on a single platter.

Syllabus Analysis

Nearly every PSCB job announced has the same syllabus except for the job of Senior Manager. The syllabus for clerk examination is way too vast. However, this will have some disadvantages because of the limited number of questions asked.

  • Other banking exams have three sections and that gives aspirant the luxury to be focused on those 3 subjects but here you will have cope-up with 5-6 subjects all at once.
  • Prioritization becomes difficult in the PSCB exam because you can’t really guess which type of questions would come. When you have 15 marks allotted for 7-8 topics in each subject; the average number of questions per topic can be 1-2. This means that you will have to prepare for every topic and can’t afford to skip any of them.

But on the other hand, one major benefit is that you can have a clear mindset and approach for such an exam. No more analysis of which topics should I consider leaving, which ones are high scoring, etc.  Everything from start to finish is important for cracking the PSCB exam.

And also you have to prepare once and not repeatedly like aspirants do for other banking exams such as RBI, SBI, or IBPS.
