Step-by-step strategy to solve a Parajumble set in 1 minute
Use this repeatable routine, practice it until it’s automatic. Total time: 60 seconds.
Quick orientation (scan once)
Read all sentences quickly. Note the topic (finance, tech, policy), tone (argument/explanation/example) and any obvious opening/closing cues (broad statements, words like therefore/in conclusion).
Pick the opener and closer
- Opener: broad/general statement, no pronoun referring back.
- Closer: result/conclusion signal or summarising sentence.
Lock them mentally — they narrow the search space immediately.
Hunt for 1–2 strong links (pairs)
- Look for pronouns (it, they, these) — find their antecedents.
- Spot cause→effect connectors (because, due to → therefore, thus).
Form 1–2 small pairs (e.g., A→B, C→D).
Arrange pairs into a flow
Decide order using natural narrative: Introduction → Development/Reason → Example → Result. Place the pairs accordingly. If there’s an explanatory or chronological clue, use it.
Check transitions & consistency
Scan for connectors (however, meanwhile, furthermore), tense agreement, and clear antecedents for pronouns. If a pronoun has no referent, the order is wrong — swap nearby sentences.
Read-through & finalize
Read the assembled paragraph aloud (silently) once. If it reads natural and every pronoun/connector fits, lock the answer.
