Tips to solve Puzzles Effectively and in less time
Here are a few tips to follow while solving puzzles, so that you can solve them in less time effectively.
- Start solving linear arrangement puzzles using definite positions first, then place the variables.
- In circular puzzles, for example, nine people sit around a circular table, some facing inward, others outward. Always fix one reference point (e.g., “A sits at the top facing center”) as taking A as the center point, place the other clues, and solve accordingly.
- Draw Floor/Building type structures and start with direct clues.
- When it comes to those puzzles where the name of a person, along with the day, is given, use a tabular layout and make a comparison table of Days vs Names to avoid confusion.
- While solving box puzzles, using a numbering system means numbering the boxes between 1-7 and then placing the direct clues given in the question.
- Write family trees separately before merging with the arrangement for blood relation puzzles.
- For year or age-based puzzles, arrange the years in ascending order and then solve the puzzles.
- Last but not least, to make all the above tips work in a habitual manner, you need practice. So practice at least 5 sets of puzzles every day.
