IBPS SO Reasoning Preparation 2025
The Reasoning section in the IBPS SO Prelims exam is considered the most scoring. It requires a logical solution to questions. There are some basic concepts that you need to learn to solve the reasoning questions that keep coming in the exam. The syllabus of reasoning contains various topics that are common in most of the bank exams. As the exam is scheduled for 30th August 2025, you have almost 2 months to prepare for the exam.
After you have gone through the syllabus within this deadline, you need to learn the basics of each topic. Then, practice some previous year questions to know which types of questions come in the exam. A step-by-step guide to IBPS SO Reasoning preparation is provided below.
Step 1: Know the Exam Pattern
The exam Pattern of the IBPS SO Prelims exam provides details of the exam like the number of questions asked from each section, maximum marks, negative marking, duration for each section, subjects to be covered, etc. The IBPS SO Mains exam contains only one subject, that is the Professional Knowledge section consists of 60 questions of 60 marks, and the time duration is 45 minutes for all other posts and 60 minutes for Rajbhasha Adhikari. There is a negative marking of 1/4th of the marks allotted to the question

Step 2: Learn Basic Concepts of Reasoning
It is important to learn the basic concepts of reasoning to score better in this section. The reasoning syllabus in the IBPS SO exam consists of topics like Puzzles and Seating Arrangement, Blood Relations, Data Sufficiency, Order and Ranking, etc. The basic concepts of reasoning remain the same for most of the bank exams.
