How to prepare for Quants section for IBPS RRB Clerk

Master the basics before starting the preparation of core topics

Before starting the quant topic preparation, master fraction, decimal conversions and percentage fraction conversions. Make sure to start the preparation by memorising cube roots, square roots, at least up to 30. You can make a chart and stick it near your study space, as it will help you revise them while you are learning or practising questions. Here we have given a chart, which you can use. Also, as a beginner, you have to devote 2-3 hours to preparing the quants section.

Improve speed maths by practising questions

If you are not able to solve speed maths with 90% accuracy, along with maintaining speed, then practice as many questions as you can. Topics such as simplification, approximation, quadratic equations, number series, and wrong number series come under the speed maths section. To complete these, you need to practice at least 25 questions from the simplification and approximation sections daily. This will improve your calculation, which is important for the RRB Clerk examination. If you complete these many topics, you have completed 20% of the total quants portion. 

Become a Pro in Basic Arithmetic Topics before practising Data Interpretation. 

Master topics such as percentage, ratio and proportion and average. DI sets questions are asked based on these concepts only. If you master these topics, it will help you in solving DI sets. Start with basic level sets, then move towards the advanced level ones. Gradually increase the number of DI questions as well. 

Master the Important Topics of the Arithmetic Section

In arithmetic, basic topics such as percentage and all you’ve already mastered. Now you have to pick up time and work, then pipe and cistern. Watch video lectures, then practice questions from the PDF course and then take a mock test. This is the procedure you have to follow while preparing the arithmetic topics.
