30 Days Study Plan for RRB PO 2025 Exam
The IBPS RRB PO Prelims exam consists of two sections – Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude, with 80 questions for 80 marks to be completed in 45 minutes. To maximise your score within this short time, a smart 30-day plan focusing on concept clarity, practice, and revision is essential.
The 30 days can be divided into three key phases – Concept Building (Days 1–10), Intensive Practice (Days 11–20), and Revision & Mock Tests (Days 21–30).
Phase 1: Concept Building (Days 1–10)
- To start, in week 1, you should focus mainly on making sure you clear the basics of both Reasoning and Numerical Ability. Having a solid conceptual base will help you tackle the more difficult questions in the weeks to come.
- Start with easy but important topics like Inequality, Syllogism, Blood Relations, and Direction Sense. It builds your ability to think logically and accurately.
- Work on Simplification, Approximation, Number Series, Percentage, Ratio, and Proportion. These topics will help with speed during calculation and build the base for arithmetic questions.
- After practising the above topics, allocate two hours to both sections. Solve 10-15 reasoning puzzles and 15-20 questions of arithmetic. In addition, spend about 30 minutes on review of some formulas and reasoning-related rules. Then finish with a mini mock test with some questions, 3-4 questions each from Ratio, Approximation, and Percentage or some of the more basic reasoning items (10 Quant + 10 Reasoning).
- Every Sunday, take one full-length mock test. Near the end of the week, revisit and review anything done in the first week. It will help you to retain the information for a longer period of time.
Phase 2: Intensive Practice (Days 11–20)
- In Week 2, you can start solving questions of low–moderate difficulty, with a view to enhancing both accuracy and the range of topics covered. This phase develops your competence in applying concepts, focusing on specially structured questions more closely aligned with the examination.
- Practice will be used to review Alphanumeric Series, Coding-Decoding, Linear Seating Arrangement, and Floor Puzzles. These topics are regularly tested and develop positive sequencing and analytical reasoning.
- Focus on Average, Profit & Loss, Simple Interest & Compound Interest, and Time & Work. The general theme in these topics is that each topic combines calculation and logic and would give a difference in calculations if they are representative of arithmetic of higher difficulty.
- The daily plan will include solving two reasoning puzzles and two arithmetic topics. You will also need to practice one hour of 25 mixed questions in a timely manner. This will augment the aptitude for speed and accuracy in completing the question sets. You will also need to revise concise versions of all important formulae and shortcuts to enable retention of concepts.
- Complete one sectional mock test for Reasoning and Quantitative. Analyse your performance, write down your mistakes, and do a recap of all key knowledgeable tricks/charts/recaps from this week’s work, in order to improve your approach to solving the problems.
Week 3 – Focus on High-Scoring Areas (Last 10 days)
- Prioritise Circular & Double-Line Seating, Logic, Input-Output, Floor & Mixed Puzzles in Reasoning and Time, Speed & Distance, DI, Partnership, Mixture & Alligation in Quant. Practice 1 DI and 2 reasoning puzzles each day, 10-15 arithmetic word problems with short calculations, and do a full-length mock at the end of Day 3.
- From day 4 to 6 include every type of puzzle, Inequality, Syllogism, Blood Relations, and Direction Sense in Reasoning and all mixed arithmetic, DI, Simplification, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion in Quant. Do 2 puzzles + 2 DI each day, and complete a set of 25 varied questions under a timer for practice. Then, take 1 full-length mock every day. And check for errors, and errors, and revise based on mistakes.
- From days 7 to 9, take Full-Length Mocks. Use Morning time to solve the first two puzzles and two DI sets. After mocks, in the afternoon, revise areas of difficulty that cropped up in mocks and revise formulas, puzzle patterns and shortcuts you use for revising before.
- A day before the examination, do not study any new topics. Just revise formulas and puzzle patterns, and make notes and discuss final mock revisions.
