Anil Sharma: I am finally selected in SBI Clerk 2020.

Q: When did you start preparing for competitive exams and how was your journey?

Anil Sharma: I completed my graduation in B.Sc. Mathematics in 2016. After that, I started preparing for SSC exams. In 2017, SSC exams faced delays and I felt very low. Later, I tried for state government jobs but couldn’t succeed. In 2019, I shifted to banking exams. I cleared many prelims but mains was tough for me. Finally, in 2020, I got success in SBI Clerk.

Q: Which exams did you appear in till date and what were their results?

Anil Sharma:

• SSC CGL 2016 – Failed in Prelims
• SSC CHSL 2017 – Failed in Prelims
• RSMSSB Lab Assistant 2017 – Failed
• Multiple SSC & Bank Exams 2018 – Failed
• IBPS RRB PO 2019 – Missed final merit by 3 marks
• IBPS RRB OA 2019 – Failed in Mains
• SBI Clerk 2019 – Failed in Mains
• LIC Assistant 2019 – Failed in Mains
• SBI Clerk 2020 – Selected

Q: How did you prepare for the English section?

Anil Sharma: I read The Hindu editorials daily and practiced quizzes regularly. That helped me improve comprehension and vocabulary.

Q: How did you prepare for Quantitative Aptitude?

Anil Sharma: Since I am from a mathematics background, I was comfortable with this section. I practiced mock tests and worked on weak topics using YouTube.

Q: How did you prepare for Reasoning?

Anil Sharma: I bought the Puzzle Mania book and practiced a lot. YouTube videos helped me clear my basics before moving to advanced puzzles.

Q: What was your strategy for General Awareness?

Anil Sharma: Honestly, GA was boring for me. But I managed it by reading newspapers daily and revising monthly PDFs from AffairsCloud.

Q: Did you follow a study schedule?

Anil Sharma: I couldn’t follow a strict schedule because of family responsibilities. But I made sure to practice regularly whenever I got time.
