Topic-Wise Tips to Prepare Reasoning for SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam
Here, we have provided topic-wise tips to prepare reasoning for SSC CGL Tier 2 exam. Follow these tips and keep in mind while studying these topics.
- Analogy & Classification: This topic is simple, and you can cover it easily by starting your preparation with simple word and number-based analogy questions. When you solve questions from analogy and classification, try to understand number patterns. Practice questions with a timer so that you can work on improving your speed.
- Series (Number, Alphabet): Series questions are all about identifying patterns. Learn common patterns like +2, -3, square, cube, and alternate patterns. For alphabet series, practice using positions (A=1 to Z=26). Practice is a must, and try to use shortcuts and visual cues if possible.
- Coding-Decoding: In this topic, you’ll often deal with letter shifting, number-letter substitutions, and symbolic patterns. The level of these questions can be moderate according to Tier 2 exam. So you are strongly advised to first start solving the basic level questions and then move on to the advanced level. Master basic types: letter shifting, number-letter substitution, etc. Attempt our free topic-wise tests so that you can know what types of questions SSC can ask.
- Blood Relations: You can master this topic easily if you have made the habit of drawing family trees. You are strongly advised to always draw family trees before solving the questions. It will help you to understand the question easily, also it will increase your accuracy. Use abbreviations (e.g., F = Father, M = Mother).
- Direction Sense: Before solving these questions, first create a rough diagram for better visualization. Practice questions involving turns, angles, directions, and maps. Try to solve them in your mind during practice, as it will help you during the real exam and save your time.
- Syllogism & Venn Diagrams: Syllogisms are logic-based and can be confusing without the right technique. Whenever you solve these questions, try to create a rough Venn diagram so that you can visualize it and improve your accuracy. Learn basic keywords: all, some, no, only, etc.
- Logical Puzzles: Logical puzzles like seating arrangements and floor-based puzzles require patience and a clear approach. Whenever you solve these questions, try to organize the data into a table or diagram. Avoid making assumptions while solving these questions.
