IOB Apprenticeship Recruitment is a program where the bank hires fresh graduates as apprentices. This is a training role under the Apprentices Act, 1961 and it gives you hands-on experience in a bank for one year. After completing this apprenticeship, you are expected to gain valuable skills and knowledge. We are providing all the important details below.

IOB Apprenticeship- Vacancies

The bank has announced 750 vacancies for apprenticeships across India. Please note that candidates can apply for engagement from only ONE State/UT which is preferably their home State/UT.

IOB Apprenticeship- Eligibility Criteria

  • You should be an Indian citizen.
  • Age should be between 20 to 28 years (as of August 1, 2025).
  • You must have completed your graduation in any discipline from a recognized university.
  • There are age relaxations for candidates belonging to reserved categories like SC, ST, OBC, PwBD as per government norms.

Reservation and Category Wise Vacancies

  • The 750 seats are reserved as per government rules for categories like SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD).
  • The bank follows a fair reservation policy to include candidates from all backgrounds.

IOB Apprenticeship- Selection Process

Online Exam => Local Language Test

Online Examination:

  • This exam has 100 questions covering General/Financial Awareness, General English, Quantitative & Reasoning Aptitude, and Computer/Subject Knowledge.
  • Duration: 90 minutes.
  • The exam will be conducted online from your home using a webcam-enabled device.
  • You must score the minimum qualifying marks decided by the bank.

Local Language Test:

If applicable, candidates will have to appear for a test in the local language of the state they applied from. Candidates who fail this language test will not be considered further.

IOB Apprenticeship- Stipend Details

  • As an apprentice, you will get a monthly stipend depending on your posting location:
    • Metro cities: ₹15,000
    • Urban areas: ₹12,000
    • Semi-urban and rural areas: ₹10,000
  • The stipend will be paid directly to your bank account every month.
  • Note: Apprentices are not eligible for any additional benefits or job security.

IOB Apprenticeship- Important Instructions

  • You must not have undergone apprenticeship training earlier or have more than one year of work experience after graduation.
  • The bank may conduct document verification and medical fitness tests before final selection.
  • You cannot apply for more than one state.
  • The decision of the bank regarding eligibility and selection is final.
