Overview of the IBPS PO Prelims Exam
The IBPS PO Prelims exam is the first stage of the selection process, followed by the Mains exam and an interview. The Prelims exam is an objective-type test with a total of 100 questions carrying 100 marks, to be completed in 60 minutes. The exam is divided into three sections:
- Quantitative Aptitude: 35 questions, 35 marks, 20 minutes
- Reasoning Ability: 35 questions, 35 marks, 20 minutes
- English Language: 30 questions, 30 marks, 20 minutes
Each correct answer awards 1 mark, while a penalty of 0.25 marks is deducted for each incorrect answer. Candidates must clear both sectional and overall cut-offs to qualify for the Mains exam.
