IBPS Clerk Revised Preparation Strategy 2025: Check Tips to Clear Exam

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has very recently revised its exam calendar. This sudden revision in the exam schedule has taken many candidates by surprise. Earlier, the IBPS Clerk Prelims was scheduled for December 6th, 7th, 13th, and 14th, and the Mains was slated for February 1st, 2026. Revised Preparation Strategy (3-Phase Plan)

We have divided the preparation into three focused phases that align with the new exam schedule.

Phase 1: Prelims-Focused Preparation (Till 30th September 2025)

(Duration: June 17 – September 30 | Time: 105 days)

Since the Mains exam is just 7 weeks after Prelims, you can’t afford to start Mains prep only after Prelims. You must overlap preparation smartly.

What to Do:

• Allocate 1 Hour Daily to Mains Topics: Focus on General/Financial Awareness and Computer Aptitude—these take longer to build.
• Read Banking Awareness Daily: Go through current affairs with a focus on banking, RBI updates, and government schemes.
• Solve High-Level Reasoning & DI Weekly: Include tougher level puzzles, caselets, and seating arrangements once or twice a week.
• Improve Typing Speed: Start typing practice if descriptive writing is part of your state bank version.

• General/Financial Awareness: Banking terms, current affairs (last 6 months), static GK.
• High-Level Quant & Reasoning: Caselets, multi-graph DI, critical reasoning.
• Computer Aptitude: Basics of networking, shortcuts, MS Office, OS concepts.

Phase 3: Prelims Final Revision & Exam Readiness (Oct 1 – Oct 11)

(Duration: 10 Days)

Use this period to revise, strengthen your accuracy, and build exam temperament.

What to Do:

• Take Daily Full-Length Mock Tests.
• Focus on Attempt Strategy: What to skip, what to solve first, how to avoid negatives.
• Do Sectional Revisions: Don’t leave even strong areas unpracticed.
• Sleep Well & Stay Healthy. Fatigue ruins performance.

Post Prelims: Mains-Focused Preparation (Oct 12 – Nov 28)

(Duration: 45 Days)

Assuming you’ve cleared the Prelims (or confident you will), shift entirely to Mains mode.

What to Do:

• General Awareness Marathon: Revise all current affairs of the last 6 months. Attempt daily quizzes.
• Weekly Descriptive Practice: Practice writing letters and essays.
• Advanced Mock Tests: Attempt full Mains mocks twice a week and analyze deeply.
• Solve One DI & One Puzzle Daily: Maintain speed and sharpness.

Practical Tips to Clear IBPS Clerk 2025 Exam

Here are some smart tips that can help you manage your time well and cover the IBPS Clerk 2025 exam syllabus:

Don’t Over-prepare or Over-practice

This exam is not about learning everything deeply. It checks how fast and correctly you can apply what you already know. So, practice more than you read.

• Don’t waste too much time reading notes again and again.
• Focus on solving mock tests regularly.
• After each mock test, check your mistakes and fix them.
• Practice the real exam pattern to become faster.

• Cover at least 5 to 6 months of news before the Mains exam.
• Learn related static GK together with current events.

Ward off fatigue

Studying with full focus for a short time is better than studying for long hours without focus. Take breaks and take care of your health.

• Use the Pomodoro method, which says you should study for 25 minutes and get a 5-minute break.
• Sleep well every night to keep your mind fresh.
• Change subjects to avoid getting bored.
• Do small exercises or walks to relax.
• Eat healthy and don’t ignore your body and mind.
