Are you an SSC GD aspirant? If so, then you must be familiar with how the exam is conducted. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts this recruitment systematically to select Constables for forces like BSF, CISF, CRPF, and others. You must be familiar with the detailed SSC GD exam pattern for the Computer-Based Exam and the Physical Test. Knowing the exam pattern will help you plan your study strategy, manage your time, and focus on important topics. Here we have explained the exam pattern for all stages in detail.

Overview of SSC GD Exam Pattern

The SSC GD examination is mainly conducted in two major stages, followed by a medical check-up and document verification:

Stage

Mode

Stage I

Computer-Based Examination (CBE)

Stage II

Physical Efficiency & Standard Test (PET/PST)

Stage III

Detailed Medical Examination (DME)

Stage IV

Document Verification (DV)

Important Note: Unlike some other exams, Stage I (The Online Exam) is the most important because your final selection is based on the marks you score here. The Physical test is qualifying, meaning you just have to pass it.

SSC GD CBT Exam Pattern

SSC conducts the Stage I exam in an online mode. They will ask multiple-choice questions (MCQs). This is the Merit-Deciding stage. This means you must score as high as possible here because these marks determine your final rank and which force you will get.

  • Mode of Exam: Online (Computer-Based Test or CBE)
  • Question Type: Objective (Multiple Choice Questions)
  • Total Questions: 80 questions
  • Maximum Marks: 160 marks

SSC GD Physical Test Pattern

Candidates who pass the Computer-Based Exam will be eligible to appear for the Physical Test. This stage is mandatory but Qualifying in nature. Marks from this stage are not added to your final score, but if you fail here, you are out of the race. This stage is divided into two parts: PET (Running) and PST (Body Measurement).

SSC GD Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

This tests your stamina and endurance. You have to complete a run within a fixed time.
