SSC CGL 2023 notification was released on 3rd April 2023. Candidates applying for SSC CGL must try to study the background regarding the Job Profile & Salary. When filling out your SSC CGL Post Preference, you need to keep a few things in mind to help you in the long term. Let's have a look:

SSC CGL Position or Job Profile Preference:

The SSC CGL allows you to apply to over 30 different types of jobs. This wide range of jobs gives you a lot of options to choose from. Each Ministry and department has its challenges and opportunities.

  • The field you want to work in is an important element. If you want to work in any particular department of government offices, you have to give preference to the job profile accordingly.
  • If you are interested in working in departments like the Intelligence Bureau or Central Bureau of Investigation, no wonder these would be your first priorities. Other closely related departments may be your next option.
  • If you are interested in working in a railway or post environment then these can be your first priority. So carefully select your preferences.

SSC CGL Location Preference

The location of the job is also essential. The benefits of posting in an urban area and a rural area differ greatly. If you are more career-oriented, urban postings may suit you better. On the other hand, if you like working in a more peaceful environment, rural posting may suit you better.

  • The place of work after the posting can vary from a rural area, sub-urban, urban to Metropolitan. If you want to get posted in an urban area or in the capital, then you should give high priority to posts like a court clerk.
  • The postal assistants can be placed from the post office in a rural area to a departmental office in a big city.

SSC CGL Salary Preference

The salary for each job varies. It also varies depending on seniority, location, responsibilities, etc. The other monetary and non-monetary benefits also differ. So check out the salary and benefits of each post before you apply.

  • Salary is different for different posts.
  • A proper detailed analysis of the amount you will get, grade pay, incentives, perks, and benefits is essential.
  • Assistant Audit Officer and Assistant Accounts Officer posts carry high salaries but your qualification may not be relevant to the post. So if salary is your first priority then make sure you prefer the post where the required degree/skill is not specifically mentioned in the notification.

SSC CGL Interests Preference

Even if other factors are in line, it may not give you job satisfaction if you are not interested in the job. To apply for a posting where you would enjoy working.

  • There may be some personal preferences for a particular job profile.
  • It totally depends on a candidate to choose what kind of work culture, and environment he/she wants to work in and preferences should be filled accordingly.
