SEBI Grade A Syllabus 2025

The SEBI Grade A Syllabus 2025 is designed to test both conceptual clarity and practical application. For Phase I, the syllabus is divided into four major areas, each targeting a specific skill set that regulatory officers must possess. Understanding these areas in detail helps aspirants plan their preparation with precision.

English Language

This section evaluates a candidate’s command over written communication. Topics include comprehension passages, error spotting, sentence rearrangement, fillers, vocabulary, and grammar. The focus is on clarity of thought, accuracy in usage, and the ability to express ideas effectively. For example, comprehension passages test analytical reading, while error spotting ensures grammatical correctness.

Reasoning Ability

Reasoning is designed to assess logical thinking and problem‑solving skills. The syllabus covers puzzles, seating arrangements, syllogism, inequalities, coding‑decoding, and data sufficiency. These topics demand quick analysis and structured reasoning. For instance, seating arrangement questions test spatial logic, while syllogism checks deductive reasoning.

Quantitative Aptitude

This section measures numerical ability and application of mathematical concepts. Topics include data interpretation, number system, arithmetic, probability, mensuration, and time & work. The emphasis is on accuracy and speed. For example, data interpretation questions test the ability to analyze charts and tables, while probability problems assess understanding of statistical likelihood.

General Awareness

General Awareness is the most dynamic section, focusing on current affairs, financial awareness, economic news, reports, organisations, budget, and awards. It ensures aspirants stay updated with national and international developments. For instance, questions may cover RBI circulars, SEBI guidelines, or highlights from the Union Budget.

SEBI Grade A Syllabus 2025 – Phase II

The Phase II syllabus of SEBI Grade A 2025 is designed to test advanced subject knowledge and professional skills. Unlike Phase I, which focuses on general aptitude, Phase II evaluates aspirants on descriptive writing and stream‑specific expertise. This stage is crucial because marks from Phase II, along with the interview, decide the final merit list.

Paper 1 – English Writing Skills

This paper is common for all streams and tests clarity of thought, articulation, and precision.

  • Essay Writing: Topics on finance, economics, social issues, or regulatory frameworks.
