Hello my name is Shubhi Srivastava. I belong from a place called Basti, one of the districts in U.P. I moved to Lucknow for further studies. I started my preparation in 2016 for the bank exams. I couldn’t even clear a single pre till 2018. I used to miss the cutoff by .25 or .75 marks. It was really a heartbreaking moment for me. I joined Unacdemy in 2019. Let me share how I prepared myself for the pre and mains.

I started giving bank exams since 2016. In 2019 and 2020 I couldn’t clear the mains exam of IBPS CLERK and SBI CLERK by 5 marks.

Section-wise Preparation Strategy

English Section Preparation Strategy

I religiously followed Niharika ma’am on Unacademy. After attending grammar classes by ma’am, I focused only on my practice. For pre and mains, I gave various mock tests and attended each and every class of ma’am. I would suggest you to make RC and PJ your strong point and practice the rest topics by giving mocks.

Quantitative Aptitude Section Preparation Strategy

To be honest I was quite weak in this section. But then I started following Ankush Lamba Sir. Also, for pre, I did daily simplification, number series, quadratic equations for one hour. After that, I practiced 4 sets of DI of pre-level. For mains, I practiced from the online paid classes of Unacdemy.

Reasoning Section Preparation Strategy

On a daily basis, I did miscellaneous topics and puzzles. For mains, I mostly relied on Ankush Lamba Sir. I used to start with his videos, then solved the puzzles by myself and cross-checked them from the videos.

General Awareness Section Preparation Strategy

I was quite weak in this subject too. So I had to put a lot of hard work into this. I followed the Bankersadda website for daily news. I watched videos of Next Exam Iq and got to learn quite a lot from Rohit Sir. I did refer to BSC Magazine for the revision. I daily attempted quizzes from BankersAdda and Practice Mock. This section is all about revision. It should be done on a daily basis.

Overall Strategy & Study Schedule

My overall strategy included giving daily one pre mock of PO. It was my target to give 2 main mock in a week, but I managed only one. Because the main aspect of giving mock is thorough analysis. I used to analyze each and every question. I used to set a target for me for the next day. I gave importance to every subject. I covered pre and main questions of every subject daily. For GA one should rely on one video source and other non-video source. Multiple revisions should be done. We should by heart tables, squares and cubes. As far as challenges are concerned, I lost my mother in 2018. Whatever I am today I am only because of her. She always wanted me to get a job in bank. I was not able to clear a single pre till 2018. It was a low point for me. But I always kept hope and always motivated myself to work hard and do for my mother.

How did PracticeMock help you?

I relied only on PracticeMock for the test series. Its level is same as the exam level we see in today’s scenario. It played a very important role in my success. Because without a good mock one will never know the real exam level. I attempted daily GA quiz from the app.

Message to the Fellow Aspirants
