How to Prepare Quant for SSC CGL 2025 in 2 Months?

Here we have provided the week-wise strategy on how to prepare quant for SSC CGL 2025 in 2 months.

Week 1-2: Build Concepts and Basics

  1. Understand the Exam Pattern: Get a clear idea of all the important topics. It will help you move on to an advanced level of study:
    • Percentage, Profit & Loss, Ratio-Proportion, SI/CI, Time-Speed-Distance
    • Averages, Mixture & Allegation, Time & Work, Number System
    • Basic Algebra, Geometry, Mensuration, Trigonometry, and DI
  2. Daily Study Time: (2-2.5 Hrs): Focus on building your base strong, for that, you should first understand the basics about the topics and start with simple level questions.
    • 1 Hour: Basic Arithmetic Topics
    • 1 Hour: Number System + Time-Work-Speed
    • 30 Mins: Topic-wise practice from previous year papers (PYQs)
  3. Learn Concepts Thoroughly: Avoid shortcut addiction in the first phase. You should focus on clearing the concept, solving questions step-by-step, and focus on accuracy and speed.
  4. Make sure you are solving the questions using shortcuts and tricks.

Week 3-4: Improve Speed and Accuracy

  1. Move to moderate-level questions: Focus on solving and practicing the questions based on the topics:
    • Simple Interest/Compound Interest
    • Geometry (angles, triangles, circles)
    • Algebra (identities, equations)
    • Mensuration (2D and 3D)
  2. Daily Plan: Here we have provided the daily plan that you should follow. This will help you to know how to utilize your time daily effectively.
    • 1.5 Hours: Mixed problem-solving sets from different topics
    • 30 mins: Revision of formulas and weak areas
    • 30 mins: Speed-building via stopwatch practice
  3. Start Practicing Calculation Tricks: Use Vedic math techniques, work on squares, cubes, percentage conversions, tables up to 40, square tables up to 40, and cube tables up to 30.

Week 5-6: Mock Test Phase + Practice

  1. Full-length Sectional Mock Test (Quant): This is the time when you should practice at least 2-3 sectional mock tests seriously. After solving the test, make sure you are analyzing the performance report carefully. This will help you to know your weak areas and where you have spent more time. So that you can prepare for them and focus on weak areas.
  2. Analyze Mistakes: Review every wrong answer, track time spent per question and error patterns, and make a notebook of repeated mistakes
  3. Target Weak Areas: When you solve the sectional tests, you will be able to know which topics are your weak. After knowing those topics, you can focus on them and make them strong.
  4. Revise Core Topics: Brush up your knowledge on topics such as arithmetic formulas, key identities in algebra & trigonometry, and geometry theorems and mensuration formulas
  5. Daily Time Allotment:
    • 1 Hour: Practice PYQs + tough topics
    • 1 Hour: Take and analyze a Quant mock/sectional test
    • 30 mins: Revise formulas + concepts

Week 7-8: Final Revision & Practice

  1. Full-length Quant Mock Tests: This time, you need to increase the number of solved mock tests from the previous week. This time, you should solve at least 4-5 sectional mock tests a week by analyzing them carefully.
  2. Topic-Wise Timed Practice on Remaining Days: Practice 15–20 timed questions per topic daily. Focus on high-weightage areas and aim for 1–1.2 minutes per question.
  3. Revise Formulas and Short Tricks Daily: Create a notebook in which you write down your formulas and short tricks. This will help you during your revision and revise them daily.
  4. Strengthen Weak Areas: Making weak areas strong can help you score well in the exam. So, make sure you are focusing on your weak areas and making them strong.
  5. Solve Previous Year Questions (PYQs): Make sure you are solving previous year questions daily. This will help you to know what types of questions are asked in the exam, the level of questions presented in the exam, and much more.
