SSC GD Constable Exam is a golden ticket for aspirants who want to serve the nation in forces such as the BSF, CRPF, CISF, etc. If you are preparing for it, you know that the competition is tough. To pass this exam, you need to focus on each section, but there is one section that is considered to be very tough, which is General Awareness (GA). Most students concentrate only on History or Geography, ignoring Indian Polity (Constitution). This is a big mistake! Polity is actually the most “scoring” subject in General Awareness because it covers the rules and regulations of the Constitution that never change. Once you learn an Article, it stays the same. To help you master this subject easily, we have created a complete guide. In this blog, we have mentioned important topics and the syllabus, and provided a free PDF of the most frequently repeated Polity questions for SSC GD exam.

Why is Polity Important for SSC GD?

In the SSC GD exam, you will get 20 questions in the General Awareness section. Out of these, 3 to 5 questions usually come from Indian Polity.

  • Direct Answers: Questions are straightforward. E.g., “What is the minimum age to become President?”
  • Small Syllabus: Compared to History (which is 5000 years old), the Constitution is one single book. It is easier to finish.
  • Repeated Questions: SSC often repeats questions about Fundamental Rights and Important Articles.

How to Prepare Polity for SSC GD Easily?

Polity is logical. If you understand the system, you remember it forever. Here are some simple tips:

  • Focus on Articles 1-51A: 70% of questions come from this section. Make sure you memorize the Fundamental Rights (Articles 12-35) and Duties (Article 51A) by heart.
  • Compare and Learn: Don’t study the President and Governor separately. Study them together.
    • President (Centre) is similar to the Governor (State).
    • Prime Minister (Centre) is similar to the Chief Minister (State). This way, you learn two topics in half the time.
  • Use Tricks (Mnemonics): To remember the Schedules, use the trick “TEARS OF OLD PM”. (T=Territory, E=Emoluments, A=Affirmations, R=Rajya Sabha, S=Scheduled Areas, etc.).
  • Attempt Topic Tests: After reading a chapter (e.g., Parliament), immediately solve 10-15 questions on it. This locks the information in your brain. For that, you can attempt our free topic tests on PracticeMock.
