You have only 10 days left for the LIC AAO 2025 Preliminary Exam, and this is the final stage of your preparation. Now is the time to give your 100% and stay focused. By devoting 10-11 hours daily in a disciplined manner, revising intelligently, and practising effectively, you can boost your confidence and maximise your scores. Remember, this is the stage where consistency and strategy matter more than learning new topics. One advantage of this exam is that there is no negative marking. This means you can answer every question without fear, and even thoughtful guesses can earn you marks. However, keep in mind that there are minimum qualifying marks for each category, so your goal should be to answer enough questions correctly to exceed these limits and maximise your scores in Quant and Reasoning. Consider these 10 days as your final race. Stay calm, follow a systematic revision plan, and make the most of every hour. The hard work you put in now will directly impact your performance on exam day.

Note: One of the biggest advantages of the LIC AAO Prelims exam is that there is no negative marking. This means candidates should make it a point to attempt all questions, even if they are not entirely sure about some answers. Since there is no penalty for wrong attempts, every question you try has the potential to add marks to your score, making it important to stay confident and attempt as many questions as possible.

Why a 10-Day Revision Plan is Important?

Before diving into the day-wise strategy, it’s important to understand why revision is crucial:

  • Time-bound preparation: With only 10 days left, candidates cannot afford to study randomly. A structured approach ensures maximum productivity.
  • Exam-focused revision: The LIC AAO exam is highly competitive, so revising high-weightage topics and frequently asked questions can improve accuracy and attempts.
  • Boosts memory retention: Revision allows you to recall formulas, tricks, and concepts during the actual exam without confusion.
  • Mock test practice: Solving mocks and analysing mistakes is essential to perform under timed conditions.

LIC AAO 2025 Revision Plan- Smart Syllabus Division

The LIC AAO Prelims 2025 exam will be held on 3rd October 2025, and with only a few days left, your focus should be on revision and practice, not on learning new topics. The prelims have three sections – Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Language. Out of these, English is qualifying, so the main focus should be on Reasoning and Quant, which decide your score and cut-off.

Here’s how you can divide the syllabus smartly for revision:

1. Quantitative Aptitude – Divide into 3 Parts

Quantitative Aptitude can seem overwhelming, but if you divide it into clear parts and revise systematically, it becomes much easier to manage. For LIC AAO Prelims, the Quant section can be divided into Speed Math, Data Interpretation (DI), and Arithmetic, and each part requires a slightly different approach.

(a) Speed Math

  • Simplification
  • Approximation
  • Number Series (Missing/Wrong)

These are quick-scoring topics. With daily practice, you can easily attempt 8–10 questions in very little time.

(b) Data Interpretation (DI)

At least 2–3 sets of Data Interpretation (DI) are usually asked in the LIC AAO exam. Before attempting DI, it is important to revise all the relevant arithmetic concepts and formulas, as most DI questions are based on these fundamentals. Make sure to practice calculation tricks like tables, squares, cubes, and percentage conversions to save time during the exam. Also, try solving moderate-level DI sets in your practice so that you can handle the actual exam questions with confidence and accuracy

(c) Arithmetic

From Arithmetic, 5–8 questions are usually asked. Revise formulas and solve a few word problems daily.

2. Reasoning Ability – Divide into 2 Parts

Reasoning is usually the most scoring section in the LIC AAO Prelims, so it deserves focused attention. The section can be divided into Puzzle & Seating Arrangements and Miscellaneous Topics, each with its own strategy.

(a) Puzzle & Seating Arrangement

  • Linear Seating Arrangement
  • Circular Arrangement
  • Floor/Month/Box-Based Puzzle
  • Day/Date-Based Puzzle

Around 15–20 questions come from this area alone. Practice 2 puzzles daily to stay exam-ready.

(b) Miscellaneous Topics

  • Syllogism
  • Inequalities
  • Blood Relation
  • Direction Sense
  • Coding-Decoding
  • Odd One Out / Order & Ranking

These are short and scoring questions. With practice, you can attempt them in less than 1–2 minutes each.

3. English Language – Just for Qualifying

Since English is only qualifying (marks not added in merit), don’t spend too much time here. If your basics are clear, focus only on:

  • Attempting 1 sectional test every day and focusing on Scoring Sections
  • Practising Reading Comprehension, Error Detection & Cloze Test
  • Revising common grammar rules (tenses, subject-verb agreement, articles, prepositions)
