Eligibility Criteria for SBI Clerk 2026
Before applying for SBI Clerk 2026, candidates should confirm that they satisfy the educational qualification, age limit, and local language requirements prescribed by SBI.
1. Educational Qualification
Graduation: Candidates must hold a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.
Final-Year Students: Candidates who are in the final year or semester of graduation can also apply provisionally. However, if provisionally selected, they must produce proof that they passed the graduation examination on or before 31 December 2026.
Candidates holding an Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) must also ensure that the date of passing the qualification is on or before 31 December 2026.
Language Proficiency: Candidates must be proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the specified opted local language of the State/UT for which they are applying. SBI will conduct a local language test after the Main Examination but before joining the Bank. Candidates who studied the specified local language in Class 10 or Class 12 and can provide the relevant certificate will not be required to take this test.
2. SBI Clerk 2026 Age Limit
The SBI Clerk age limit is calculated as on 1 April 2026.
- Minimum Age: 20 years
- Maximum Age: 28 years
- Candidates must have been born not earlier than 2 April 1998 and not later than 1 April 2006, with both dates inclusive.
Major upper-age relaxations include:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- PwBD (General/EWS): 10 years
- PwBD (OBC): 13 years
- PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years
Other relaxations are available for eligible Ex-Servicemen, widows/divorced women and SBI-trained apprentices as specified in the official notification.

The SBI Clerk application process is completely online. Candidates should keep their active email ID and mobile number available throughout the recruitment process.
Part I: Registration
- Visit the SBI Careers portal at sbi.bank.in/web/careers/current-openings.
- Open the Recruitment of Junior Associates 2026 section.
- Open the appropriate SBI Clerk online application form.
- Enter the required personal and contact details.
- Save the information entered in the form if you are unable to complete the application in one session.
- The system will generate a provisional registration number and password.

The photograph, thumb impression and handwritten declaration should be uploaded in JPG/JPEG format as prescribed. Candidates should also ensure that all uploaded images are clear and properly visible.
Live Photograph Requirement
In addition to uploading the scanned passport-size photograph, candidates are required to capture and upload a live photograph during the application process.
Candidates can either:

SBI Clerk Handwritten Declaration Text 2026
The handwritten declaration must be written by the candidate in English on white paper using black ink. The signature and handwritten declaration must not be written entirely in capital letters.
The official SBI Clerk 2026 handwritten declaration is:
“I, ______ (Name of the candidate), Date of Birth ______, hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required. The signature, photograph and left thumb impression is of mine”.
Candidates must write the declaration themselves. The signature, left thumb impression and handwritten declaration must belong to the applicant and should not be prepared by another person.
