RBI Grade B 2024 Selection Procedure

RBI Grade B Exam is conducted in 3 phases (Phase I, II & III. Phase I or the Prelims exam is an objective-type exam consisting of 4 sections, English Language, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and General Awareness. Each phase acts as an elimination round, where only those candidates are allowed to appear in the Mains Examination who clear the Phase II exam. Psychometric Test & Interview (Phase III) will be the last or final stage of the exam.

RBI Grade B Phase-I Exam Pattern

RBI Grade B Phase-I exam consists of 4 sections. There is no sectional time limit. The total duration of the RBI Grade B Phase- I is of 120 minutes. There is a negative marking of ¼ for wrong answers. Given below are the distribution marks amongst each section:

Note:

  1. Candidates have to secure minimum marks separately for each test as well as aggregate, as prescribed by the Board.
  2. There will be penalty for wrong answers marked by you. For every wrong answer marked by you, 1/4th of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty.
  3. Candidates, who secure minimum marks separately for each Test, as prescribed, will be shortlisted for Phase-II of the Examination based on the aggregate marks obtained in Phase-I. The minimum aggregate cut off marks for being shortlisted for Phase-II of the Examination will be decided by the Board in relation to the number of vacancies.
  4. Roll No. of the candidates shortlisted for Phase-II examination will be published on RBI website tentatively within a week after Phase-I examination.

RBI Grade-B Phase-II exam consists of 3 sections. You are given 90 minutes for each section of the exam, making a total time duration of 270 minutes.

Note:

@For both Paper I and III, there will be 30 questions and 50 marks for Objective questions (some questions carrying 2 marks each and some carrying 1 mark each). In case of Descriptive questions, 6 questions will be asked, of which candidates will be required to attempt 4 questions (2 of 15 marks each (with difficulty level) and 2 of 10 marks each). In case, candidate answers more than 4 questions in descriptive, first 4 shall be evaluated.

All question papers (in both the Phases, except the test of English) will be set bilingually in Hindi and English.

RBI Grade B Phase-III- Interview

Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview, based on aggregate of marks obtained in Phase-II (Paper-I +Paper-II +Paper-III). The minimum aggregate cut off marks for being shortlisted for Interview will be decided by the Board in relation to the number of vacancies. Roll No. of the candidates shortlisted for interview will be published on RBI website at appropriate time and interview call letters will be sent on registered email ID. Interview will be of 75 marks.

Candidate shall be required to undergo Personality Assessment conducted by the Bank before appearing for the Interview, no marks will be allotted for the same, and will not form part of the final selection criteria. Candidate may opt for interview either in Hindi or English. Final Selection will be through merit list which will be prepared by adding marks secured by candidates in Phase- II examination and interview and grace marks as applicable as per extant rules.

I am in the final year of my graduation, am I eligible to apply for this recruitment?

No, you are not eligible. To apply for Officer Grade B, General a candidate must have completed his/her graduation as per the date specified by RBI.

What is the Application fee for RBI Grade B Officer recruitment? +

For general and OBC category candidates, an application fee to apply for RBI Grade B Officer recruitment 2021 is 850/- and for all other (SC/ST/PWD), it is 100/- rupees. There is no application charge for a person who is already working with RBI under any post.

How many times can I appear for this RBI Grade B Officer Exam? +

Candidates belonging to General category can appear for a maximum six times in this exam. It means if you have already given the phase 1 examination for the posts under this recruitment six times earlier, then you are not eligible to apply for this exam seventh time. There is no such limit on a number of attempts for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD for this exam.
