New Changes for SSC CGL Notification 2025

This year, the SSC has introduced some new changes for the SSC CGL 2025 exam that an aspirant must know for their smooth preparation.

  1. For the SSC CGL Exam 2025, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has introduced Aadhaar-based biometric authentication across all its recruitment exams to improve identity verification and prevent impersonation and other fraudulent activities.
  2. Candidates now have the option to use Aadhaar authentication voluntarily at three key stages:
    • During online registration
    • while submitting their application,
    • and at the exam center.
      • This process includes biometric checks like fingerprint or facial recognition, linked to their Aadhaar number.
  3. Additionally, SSC has updated its ‘mySSC app’, allowing applicants to register and apply for exams, including SSC CGL 2025, directly through the app.
  4. This year, SSC has also introduced two new positions: “Section Head” and “Office Superintendent.”

How to Apply for SSC CGL 2025?

Filling out the SSC CGL 2025 application form consists of two parts:

  1. One-Time Registration (OTR) Process
  2. Form Filling Process

Part 1: One-Time Registration (OTR) Process

  1. Visit the Official SSC Website: Go to ssc.gov.in.
  2. Complete One-Time Registration (OTR):
  3. Click on the “Register Now” link under the “Login” section.
  4. Provide your details, such as Aadhaar Number, Name, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, Date of Birth, Mobile Number, and Email ID.
  5. Create login credential details such as username and password.
  6. Verify OTP sent to your mobile number and Email.
  7. Upload your photograph and signature after checking all specifications provided in the notification.
  8. Submit and note your registration ID.

Part 2: Form Filling Process

  1. Log in using your registration number and password got from the OTR process.
  2. Navigate to the “Apply” section and select the “CGL” tab.
  3. Complete the application form with your educational and other required details.
  4. Upload the required documents in the correct format.
  5. Pay the Application Fee:
    • The application fee is ₹100 for General and OBC male candidates.
    • Female candidates and those belonging to SC, ST, PwD, and Ex-Servicemen categories are exempted from paying the fee.
    • Fees can be paid online via BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or through credit/debit cards. Offline payment can be made in cash at designated SBI branches by generating a challan.
  6. Submit the Application:
    • Review all entered information carefully.
    • Submit the application form.
    • It’s advisable to print or save a copy of the submitted application for future reference.

SSC CGL One-Time Registration

The SSC CGL 2025 one-time registration process is mandatory for those candidates who have not registered on the SSC official website yet. This process will give them a one-time registration number required to log in to the website. Without this process, you cannot fill out the SSC CGL 2025 application form.

The SSC CGL Tier 1 exam includes 4 sections, namely General Intelligence & Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General English & General Awareness. SSC CGL Tier 1 includes 100 questions for 200 marks (2 marks each). For every incorrect answer, a 0.50 mark will be deducted as a penalty. There will be the composite timings, i.e., 60 minutes.
