Rules to Follow While Solving Simplification for SBI Clerk 2025
Simplification is an important topic in the Quant section of the SBI Clerk Prelims exam. These questions are simple to solve if you follow some rules; they can be solved very quickly.
The first and most important rule is to use the BODMAS rule correctly. This means solving numbers in the order of Brackets, Order (like squares or roots), Division, Multiplication, Addition, and Subtraction. If you do not follow this order, you may get the wrong answer.
You should also learn squares, cubes, and roots up to 30. For example, remembering that 15² = 225 or 12³ = 1728 will help you calculate faster. Along with this, try to remember common fractions and percentages such as 1/2 = 50%, 1/4 = 25%, and 1/5 = 20%. These are always used in questions.
Sometimes you can use an approximation if the answer options are far apart. But if options are close, always solve carefully. Be alert about plus and minus signs, because a small mistake can change the answer.
Best Tips for Simplification for SBI Clerk 2025
1. Practice 15 Questions Daily
Try to solve at least 15 simplification questions daily. This daily practice will make your calculation strong, almost like a calculator. You don’t need to be able to solve all correctly in the beginning. But slowly you will understand which questions are easy for you and which take more time. This will help you a lot in the exam to decide which questions to solve first and which to skip.
2 . Build Speed and Accuracy Together
In the exam, both speed and accuracy matter. So, do not just solve quickly, but also check that your steps are correct. A small mistake in the sign (+/–) or the wrong order can make your answer wrong. Use shortcut tricks for multiplying, dividing, and squaring numbers to save time.
3. Practice on Desktop or Laptop
Remember, the SBI Clerk exam will be on a computer, not on a phone. Many students practice questions only on mobile, but it feels different in the real exam. That’s why try to give topic-wise tests or mock tests on a desktop or laptop. This way, you will get habituated to using a mouse and keyboard, and your accuracy while selecting answers will also improve.
4. Learn When to Skip
This is one of the most important tips. Sometimes, you may get a simplification question with very lengthy calculation. If it is taking too much time, leave it and move to the next one. First solve the easy questions which can be done in 20–30 seconds. Later, if time is left, you can come back to the tough ones. This smart skipping will help you secure more marks.
