SSC CGL Quant Free Topic-wise Tests
Here we have provided the links to the SSC CGL Quant free topic-wise tests. You are advised that whenever you attempt a topic test, check your performance report carefully. In case if you get good marks, then try to solve more advanced questions belonging to that topic and if you get less score then create a schedule and study that topic again.
1. Ratio and Proportion: This is about comparing two or more numbers. For example, if there are 2 boys for every 3 girls in a class, the ratio is 2:3. Proportion means two ratios are equal. You’ll often solve problems like “If A: B = 2:3 and B: C = 4:5, then what is A: C?”
2. Percentages: This is all about “how much out of 100.” For example, if you scored 40 out of 50 on a test, your percentage is 80%. It’s used a lot in profit/loss, discounts, exams, and population-based questions.
3. Number System: This topic covers the basics of numbers, such as odd, even, prime, divisibility rules, LCM, HCF, and types of numbers. These are the foundation of all arithmetic questions.
4. Mixture and Alligation: These are problems where you mix two or more items (like milk and water, or two chemicals) and find the resulting quantity or cost. Alligation is a shortcut method to solve these mixture problems faster.
5. Profit and Loss: This is based on buying and selling items. You’ll deal with concepts like cost price, selling price, profit %, loss %, discounts, and marked price. Common questions: “If a shopkeeper buys at ₹100 and sells at ₹120, what’s the profit %?”
6. Trigonometry: This is mostly from class 10 maths. It deals with angles and triangles using ratios like sin, cos, tan, and so on. In SSC CGL, it’s usually formula-based and includes height and distance questions too.
7. Mensuration: These are shape and figure-based problems where you calculate area, volume, surface area, perimeter, etc. It includes 2D shapes (rectangle, triangle, circle) and 3D shapes (cube, cylinder, cone, sphere, etc.).
8. Data Interpretation: You’ll get graphs, tables, bar charts, or pie charts with numbers. You’ll need to read and understand the data and answer questions. It’s all about calculation speed and accuracy.
9. Simple Interest (SI) and Compound Interest (CI): These are types of interest on money. SI is calculated on the original amount throughout. CI is calculated on the new total each year. Think of bank interest—CI is more realistic.
10. Algebra: It includes solving equations, finding values of expressions, and questions based on identities like (a + b )². Don’t worry—it’s mostly based on formulas and quick tricks in SSC CGL.
11. Time, Speed, and Distance: You solve problems like “If a car travels 60 km in 1 hour, what’s its speed?” Or “Two trains cross each other in 10 seconds…” Learn the basic formula: Speed = Distance ÷ Time and variations of it.
12. Time and Work: Here, you find how long it takes to complete a job. Example: If A can do a job in 10 days and B in 5, how long will they work together? It’s about efficiency and teamwork.
13. Geometry: This topic includes lines, angles, triangles, circles, and their properties. You’ll use theorems like Pythagoras, angle sum property, and area formulas. SSC keeps it mostly theory-based with easy-level numericals.
