IBPS PO Prelims Shift Timings 2025

The IBPS PO Preliminary exam is conducted in four shifts on the exam day. Each shift has a duration of 1 hour, and candidates must report at the centre well in advance to complete the verification process. Below are the shift-wise reporting and exam timings:

General Instructions for IBPS PO Prelims

  • Carry your valid call letter, one original photo ID proof, and a photocopy of the same.
  • The ID proof must carry the same name as mentioned in your application form.
  • You need to carry one additional photograph, the same as the one pasted on your call letter.
  • Your call letter and ID copy will be authenticated and returned to you at the exam centre.
  • If you’re using a scribe, you must also bring the duly filled scribe form. Check the scribe instructions in the official notification.

Items Not Allowed in Exam Centre

To maintain exam integrity, certain items are strictly banned:

  • Stationery items, printed or written material, geometry boxes, calculators, or log tables.
  • Mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, headphones, or any electronic gadgets.
  • Bags, handbags, wallets, belts, caps, or any metallic items.
  • Food items or water bottles (sealed or open).
  • Ornaments like earrings, rings, necklaces, nose-pins, etc.
  • Bringing any banned item may lead to cancellation of candidature, and in some cases, even legal action.

IBPS PO Prelims Exam Time Duration

The IBPS PO Prelims Exam 2025 has a total time duration of 1 hour (60 minutes). THE IBPS PO exam is conducted in 4 shifts. It consists of three sections: English Language (20 minutes), Quantitative Aptitude (20 minutes), and Reasoning Ability (20 minutes). Each section has a fixed time limit. Students cannot switch between sections during the exam. The exam consists of 100 questions, carrying 1 mark each, totaling 100 marks. There is also a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. The exam is conducted online and is objective. Time management is important to attempt all questions accurately within the time limit.

What Happens If You Miss Your Shift?

If you miss your shift, you will not be allowed to appear in any other shift. No changes or rescheduling are allowed. So, ensure you check your admit card for shift details, plan your travel, and reach your centre on time.
