Here, we have provided the selection process for Delhi Police AWO/ TPO recruitment 2025. Candidates who want to get selected must go through these processes. All candidates must clear each stage to progress to the next. Below, we have mentioned all stages of the recruitment process:  

• Computer-Based Examination (CBE): Conducted by SSC, carrying a maximum of 100 marks.
• Physical Endurance and Measurement Tests (PE&MT): Conducted by Delhi Police, qualifying in nature.

Stage 1: Delhi Police AWO/ TPO Computer-Based Examination (CBE)

Computer-based exam (CBE) is the first stage of the exam. Candidates whose applications will be selected can appear in this test. The CBE is an objective-type, multiple-choice paper consisting of 100 questions, with each question carrying one mark. The total duration of the examination is 90 minutes. Below, we have provided the exam pattern for CBE in a table format.

Note:

• Negative Marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
• Medium of Examination: The exam will be conducted in both English and Hindi.
• Normalization of Marks: If the exam is conducted in multiple shifts, marks will be normalized using a standard procedure published by the Commission.

Delhi Police AWO/ TPO Syllabus 2025 for CBE

The level of the questions for the CBE is equivalent to the 12^th standard. The syllabus is broad, covering a range of subjects to test a candidate’s general knowledge and logical aptitude.

(A) Syllabus of General Awareness for CBE

Questions are designed to test the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him/her and its application to society. Questions are also designed to test his/her knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of an educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries, especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Indian Economy, General Polity, Indian Constitution, Scientific Research. This question will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline.

(B) Syllabus of General Science for CBE

Physics: Understand the basic concepts of topics like thermodynamics, mechanics, Newton’s Law of Motion, gravity, motion, pressure, units of measurements, sound, heat & temperature, electronics, magnetism, Ohm’s Law, number systems, fiber optics, mode of communication etc.

Chemistry: Chemistry of everyday life, commonly used chemicals, important catalysts, reactions, commercial applications of chemicals, chemical and physical change, definition-based question, acids (Sulphuric acid, Hydrochloric), atomic number, elements and their symbols, electrochemistry, etc.

(C) Syllabus of Mathematics for CBE

Number systems, ratio and proportion, percentages, averages, simple and compound interest, profit, loss & discount, time, distance & work, algebra (equations, surds, indices, graphs), geometry, mensuration, trigonometry, data interpretation, sequence & series, permutation & combination, simplification.

(D) Syllabus of Reasoning for CBE

Non-verbal reasoning (figures), analogy, alphanumeric series, number series, critical thinking, coding and de-coding, logical reasoning, input-output, blood relations, syllogisms, table, directions/ranking test, Venn diagrams, seating arrangement, coded inequalities, data sufficiency.

(E) Syllabus of Computer Fundamentals for CBE

This paper will include questions on the following:

• Elements of word processing, including word processing basics, opening and closing documents, text creation, formatting the text, and its presentation features.
• MS Excel, including elements of spreadsheets, editing of cells, functions, and formulas.
• Communication, including basics of e-mail, sending/receiving of emails, and their related functions.
• Internet, WWW, and web browsers, including internet services on the internet, URL, HTTP, FTP, websites, blogs, web browsing software, search engines, chat, video conferencing, eBanking, etc.

Stage 2: Physical Endurance & Measurement Test (PE&MT)

Candidates who pass the CBE (stage 1 of the selection process) will be eligible to appear for stage 2, which is the Physical Endurance & Measurement Test (PE&MT). The PE&MT is a qualifying stage conducted by the Delhi Police and will be held in Delhi only. The number of shortlisted candidates is twenty times the number of vacancies in each category.

Physical Endurance Test Requirements for Male Candidates

The requirements for male candidates are categorized by age. Below, we have provided the requirements.

Note: A candidate must first qualify in the race to be eligible for the long jump and high jump. Three chances are given to clear the long jump and high jump. There is no appeal against disqualification in any of these events.

Physical Endurance Test for Female Candidates

The requirements for female candidates are also categorized by age. Below, we have provided the age-wise requirements.

Note: Same as we have mentioned for male candidates.

Physical Measurements Test (PMT)

Candidates who successfully clear the endurance tests will undergo a physical measurement test.

Note: Relaxations of 5 cms for both height and chest are available for residents of hill areas and for the sons/daughters of Delhi Police personnel.

Stage 3: Trade & Computer Proficiency Tests

Candidates who pass the PE&MT test will be eligible to appear in the third stage of the recruitment process, which is the Trade & Computer Proficiency Tests. These tests are compulsory and qualifying in nature. A candidate who does not pass these tests will be disqualified from the recruitment process.  

• Trade Test: This test is designed to assess a candidate’s ability to transmit and receive messages. It involves reading and dictation in both Hindi and English. Candidates with more than 50% mistakes in either language will be disqualified.  
• English Word Processing Speed Test: This test requires a candidate to achieve 1000 key depressions in 15 minutes based on a given printed passage of 200 words. Making 25 or more mistakes will lead to disqualification.  
• Basic Computer Functions Test: This test is conducted to evaluate practical skills in MS-Word, MS-PowerPoint, and MS-Excel of a candidate. They will be tested on specific formatting features such as font styles, text alignment, and table insertion. To qualify, a candidate must secure at least 3 marks out of a possible 5 in each of the three tests.

Incentives & Bonus Marks: A Merit Boost

The final merit list is prepared based on a candidate’s score in the Computer-Based Examination, along with any incentive or bonus marks they may be eligible for. The notice specifies additional marks for holders of National Cadet Corps (NCC) and Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) certificates. These bonus marks provide an advantage and can be a deciding factor for candidates with similar CBE scores.
