You need to stand out from the other candidates. The first impression is the last impression! A little preparation before the interview can help you make a good first impression. It may even leave a lasting impression on your interviewer, whether you’re giving an online or in-person interview. Here are some of the tips you can follow:

1. Polish your communication skills

In whatever time you have, you should devote sufficient time to your communication skills. An easy way to do it is to prepare your introduction beforehand. You can tell your introduction to your siblings or friends and ask them how they rate you. You can improve it by practicing it again and again. But before preparing it, watch some professional introductions on YouTube to get some help.

  • Do your homework: Prepare probable questions that the interviewer can ask you. That will make your mind work and it will help you to go prepared. For instance, The most commonly asked questions are:
  • Tell me something about yourself?
  • What are your strengths and weaknesses?

Prepare an updated resume to be handed over to the interviewer at the time of the interview. If he asks you to self-introduce yourself, don’t just say, “My name is Rahul and I am a graduate……” Your resume will be exhibiting your name, your qualifications, and everything about you and he might have gone through it. You needn’t repeat that. Your answer should be short and creative, filled with your dreams, your strengths, hobbies (better, if related to work), weaknesses, dreams, aspirations, and more.

Just be honest and confident while giving the answers. Don’t lie or exaggerate. Don’t tell jokes, and don’t be coarse. Don’t criticize the interviewer, bank, and others, as it will only reflect back on you. Above all, remember that your answer doesn’t have to be perfect but it should be your best one. Be empathetic, honest, and smart interviewee. If you find anything confusing, ask the interviewer. Asking an important question is also a trait of an intelligent man. No bank can afford to neglect an intelligent Bank PO.

2. Dress formally or properly

Avoid wearing strange items of clothing. Never wear outdoor clothing for an interview as important as Bank PO or any other. Similarly, don’t wear sunglasses, hats, or gloves. If you have traveled from far and wide, leave your luggage and baggage in the waiting room. Make contact. Eye contact is vital, but don’t stare at the interviewer. It will make you look awkward. So, be relaxed.

Reflect Seriousness for the job:
