Please brief as how was your Preparation Journey?

I started my preparation journey in May 2020. I had given various examinations. My journey was full of learning as from past 2 years I have been missing the final selection by just a small margin and before that I was not able to clear mains examination for some time. So, by analysing various things, I made various strategies to clear exams.

How did you prepare for the General Awareness section?

When I started my journey this is the most challenging part for me and for 2-3 years I only studied notes, daily general awareness classes and different pdf provided by different platforms but this was not helpful for me. And this year I changed my strategy and relied only on YouTube classes (per month important questions) of Sheetal Sharma ma’am. And watched the budget from Aashish Gautam sir and various other sources. For me I analysed that watching the same videos 3-4 times and making short notes is more helpful then studing all the pdfs.

What was your overall strategy? Did you follow a study schedule? If yes, please share the details

For past 3 years I’m relying only on mock test and General awareness classes because I have understand the basic in the first year only. And 1 month before the prelims exam I start give one mock daily and take daily general awareness classes and month wise general awareness classes on YouTube. For Mains I give one mock test in 4-5 days, watch only general awareness videos and practice some high level DIs and puzzle of reasoning.

Did you face any hurdle as well? How did you overcome it?

For me the biggest hurdle was general awareness as there are so many videos of toppers and teachers that this is the way you should study and read general awareness but as per me those tricks don’t apply to everyone you have to make your own strategies by analysing your strengths and which way is easy for you. I over come it by applying various different strategies and find the best possible strategy for me i.e. make your own notes by watching videos and revise that atleast 2-3 times. So, that you remember that in the examination.

Did PracticeMock help you in your success? Please elaborate

Yes, practicemock helped me a lot as they provide one of the best mock tests in the industry. They provide every level of mock test, i.e. easy, moderate and hard level, so that the aspirant is ready for every situation, whether the paper is easy or difficult. Also, they vary their mock series and provide the mock test one level up compare to the exam level. And some mocks are more difficult than others, but this is the thing which made my reasoning and quant so strong that even in the hard papers I can score well by picking the right question just like this year’s IBPS PO and SBI PO mains paper. I’m very thankful to practicemock that they have given such a good mock series, which helped me a lot.

What’s your message for the fellow aspirants who are preparing for competitive exams?

Keep it up and make your own strategies by analyzing yourself and the real papers which you have given and if you are lacking in the same subject, then please revisit your strategy. The most important thing which I learned during my journey is, you have to score atleast 15–20 marks in GA if you want to get selected, because this is the only subject which really impacts the result. Consistent is the key. Keeping hustling and keep believing in yourself.

This brings us to the end of the article. We sincerly hope that these success stories keep motivating you at all times so that you keep working hard to achieve your goal of clearing these competitive exams.
