I started preparing for banking exams from July 2022 onwards. After brushing up the basics, I relied completely on the mocks available on PracticeMock site. I analysed my mistakes from the mocks and worked on improving those. By following this simple strategy and giving a lot of mocks, I was able to clear both IBPS PO and SBI PO in my 1st attempt.
RRB Clerk 2022- Didn’t clear prelims
RRB PO 2022- Didn’t Clear Prelims
IBPS Clerk 2022- Appeared for mains, not finally shortlisted
IBPS PO 2022- Cleared. Was allotted Bank of India
SBI Clerk 2022- Could not clear Mains by 1 Mark
SBI PO 2022- Cleared all three stages
SSC CGL 2022- Awaiting Mains result
English section has always been my forte. I used to read newspaper editorials and a lot of novels during college, which eventually helped me in gaining a good grasp over this section. To maintain my consistency in this section, I solely relied on giving mocks.
To prepare for quantitative aptitude, I started with learning multiplication tables till 25, cubes till 25, and squares of upto first 50 numbers. I used to revise them daily. I learnt how to solve quadratic equations and few other concepts through YouTube. I also solved the arithmetic section from Rakesh Yadav Class Notes. That helped me a lot in building up my basics. Post that, I used to give mocks from PracticeMock for building speed and accuracy.
After learning the approach of solving puzzles, I attempted mocks to build my speed and accuracy in solving such questions.
I used to revise Weekly Current Affairs from AffairsCloud PDF and give quizzes on PracticeMock. Although personally, I found the GA section to be on a tougher side this time and couldn’t score a lot in this section.
Completely relied on YouTube.
I didn’t have a very strict study schedule. But I made sure that I give mocks as much as possible and keep revising current affairs. I initially found the mains exam to be very time taking and mind- numbing. But then I got used to the time duration as consistent practice helped me in getting accustomed to the rigour of these exams.
Yes, I would attribute a big part of my success to the mocks provided by Practice Mock. This was the only mock test series that I followed religiously and it helped me in preparing for my exams in the best way possible. The mocks used to be tougher than the real exam level, due to which I used to find the real exam paper a cakewalk. Also, the analysis provided after submitting the paper was top-notch. A huge thanks to PracticeMock for making this journey easier for me.
Keep practicing. Brush up all formulas daily. Give a lot of mocks. For someone who finds English challenging, try learning the basic rules of tenses, followed by reading a good English daily. Never ever give up and you’ll find yourself on the other side of the journey. 🙂
This brings us to the end of the article. We sincerly hope that these success stories keep motivating you at all times so that you keep working hard to achieve your goal of clearing these competitive exams.
